Murodjon Akhmadaliev (8-0, 6 KOs) says he will target his fellow champions if he can successfully defend his WBA and IBF super bantamweight titles against Ryosuke Iwasa (27-3 17 KOs) at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, live worldwide on DAZN on Saturday. Akhmadaliev became unified champion in just his seventh pro outing when he took the belts from Daniel Roman in Miami in January 2020.

All Star Boxing President & CEO Felix “Tutico” Zabala announced early Friday morning the signing of Venezuelan prospect Esneiker Correa (14-2-1, 12 KOs) to a multi-year exclusive promotional agreement with his company. Correa joins stablemate & former Rio 2016 Venezuelan Olympian Luis Cabrera to sign with Zabala.

Correa, 22, born in Los Teques, Venezuela but now residing in Quito, Ecuador where he trains and lives under the guidance of manager Daniel Cadenas. Unbeaten featherweight Alan “Lachorro” Solis (13-0-1, 7 KOs) outscored late sub Jonathan Aguilar (19-9, 15 KOs) over ten one-sided rounds to claim the vacant WBO Latino title on Thursday night at the Polideportivo Centenario in Los Mochis, Sonora, Mexico. Workmanlike performance. Scores were 97-93, 97-93, 99-91.

Welterweight Mauricio “Trompas” Pintor (24-3-1, 14 KOs), the nephew of Hall of Famer Lupe Pintor, scored an eight round unanimous decision over San Antonio fighter Kendo “Tremendo” Castaneda (17-4, 8 KOs). Castaneda had a point deducted in round two for hitting Pintor in the back in a clinch. No referee’s warning. The deduction made the difference as Pintor won 76-75, 76-75, 77-74. History will be made Saturday when Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring puts his WBO junior lightweight world title on the line against Belfast’s former two-weight world champion Carl “The Jackal” Frampton at Caesars Bluewaters Dubai. This will be Dubai’s first-ever world title bout, and if Frampton is victorious, he would become the first Irish boxer to become a three-weight world champion. Herring, meanwhile, is looking to notch the third successful defense of the title he won from Masayuki Ito in May 2019.

Herring-Frampton will stream live and exclusively in the United States on ESPN+.

Rising welterweight Conor Benn(17-0, 11 KOs) is eyeing a huge domestic clash with Amir Khan or Kell Brook should he get past Samuel Vargas as expected on April 10.

“He’s an experienced fighter,” said Benn. “He gave Amir Khan hell. Amir Khan got saved by the bell and by the grace of God three or four times in that fight. He had him on the deck. I know Khan’s chin isn’t that credible but he’s a well-respected fighter. He’s achieved everything that I want to achieve in the sport. Ring City USA will host its next live event from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. on Thursday, April 22. The event will be headlined by their first ever heavyweight main event when Jermaine Franklin (20-0, 13 KOs) and Stephan Shaw (14-0, 10 KOs) meet in a ten-round fight.

Ring City had previously announced on-air that their next show would be April 8 between unbeaten super welterweight Charles Conwell (14-0, 11 KOs) and Ivan “The Volk” Golub (19-1, 15 KOs). Apparently, that bout is postponed or off.
