WBA #10 heavyweight Daniel Dubois (15-1, 14 KOs) will return to the ring on Saturday, June 5 with a challenge for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title against WBA #2 Bogdan Dinu (22-2, 16 KOs).

Promoter Frank Warren stated, “I’m delighted to get this fight over the line for Daniel and really pleased to be working with Greg Cohen on this event. A win for Daniel in this interim title fight will see him become the mandatory challenger for the WBA world title and, if he can get past Dinu on June 5, he is back in contention and right in the mix with the top contenders.”

When 58-year-old Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield, the only person ever to win the world heavyweight title four times, returns to the ring to fight 47-year-old Kevin McBride on June 5, it will be in a real six-round fight, not an exhibition like the recent Tyson-Jones Jr PPV. All professional boxing rules will apply. Holyfield and McBride will be fighting for the Triller Fight Club Legends Champion Gold Belt, the first of Fight Club’s championship belts.

Holyfield-McBride will join a card that already has the undisputed lightweight title fight between Teófimo López and George Kambosos Jr. The location and times for Triller Fight Club on June 5 will be announced officially in the coming days.

The undercard is set for Top Rank’s April 24 ESPN+ stream at the sold-out Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida. In the main fights, Emanuel Navarrete defends his WBO featherweight world title against Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz, and super middleweight Edgar Berlanga seeks to score his 17th consecutive first round knockout against Demond Nicholson.

In what is possibly the first time in the long history of South African boxing, Golden Gloves Promotions will present two tournaments on the same day at the same venue: Emperors Palace near Kempton Park on Saturday, June 19.

Three Lions Promotions has announced that unbeaten cruiserweight Ryan Rozicki (12-0, 12 KOs) will now face former Canadian cruiser champ and Commonwealth title challenger Sylvester “Sly” Louis (8-6, 4 KOs) on April 23 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, at a closed-door PPV event with no fans.

Four of the top names in Panamanian boxing were announced to fight on May 21 at Los Andes shopping mall in San Miguelito, Panama, on top of the “Poker of Aces” card, promoted by Laguna Premium Boxing.

In a press conference, Promoter Rouss Laguna revealed that her husband, former WBA bantamweight super champion Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno (38-6-1, 12 KOs) returns to action after a year and a half, to face Mexican Antonio Tostado (25-7, 8 KOs) in the main event, for the WBA Continental featherweight belt.

Jezreel “Invisible” Corrales (23-4, 9 KOs) a former WBA super featherweight world champion will break 14 months of inactivity by facing Miguel Angel Martinez (15-3-1, 10 KOs) from Jaisco, Mexico in a ten-round fight on the lightweight division. Former WBC super welterweight world champion Tony “Superbad” Harrison  (28-3, 21 KOs) and Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella (17-3, 14 KOs) previewed their main event showdown on a virtual press conference Thursday before they enter the ring on FOX  this Saturday, April 17 from Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Middleweight contender Jaime Munguia (36-0, 29 KOs) will now fight on June 19 live on DAZN at The University of Texas at El Paso’s Don Haskins Center. His initial return date of April 23 has been rescheduled following an elbow injury suffered by D’Mitrius Ballard (20-0-1, 13 KOs).

Additional details for the event, including Munguia’s opponent, will be announced shortly. Munguia was originally slated to face Maciej Sulecki. Ballard was Sulecki’s replacement after Sulecki pulled out due to injury.

Tickets for the event will be honored for the rescheduled date.

Hall of Fame Referee Richard Steele shared his memories of Hagler-Hearns 36 years ago today. Steele recounts his last encounter with Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard at the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame a few years ago, talked about his life in boxing where he has crossed paths with Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Ken Norton and the GOAT Muhammad Ali. Steele also discussed his foundation and boxing club, the big win from fellow Marine Jamel Herring and managing his super middleweight fighter out of Guatemala, Lester Martinez.

Showtime Sports and Premier Boxing Champions today unveiled a five-month boxing schedule of nine high-stakes world championship events beginning Saturday, May 15, live on Showtime. The schedule delivers two events per month through August. Thirteen matchups have been announced thus far with no less than seven world title fights, and 12 fighters defending undefeated records. All fights on the schedule will take place before a live audience, keeping with applicable local COVID-19 safety protocols.
