Top Rank has announced that WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) will make the first defense of his title against 2020 Olympic silver medalist and WBO #1 Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) on Friday, February 14, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. ESPN will televise.
Denys Berinchyk: “I’m not going to make any big statements or shower my opponent with compliments. I’ll just say one thing: Don’t relax, dude! It won’t be an easy fight for you!”
Keyshawn Davis: “This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. Denys Berinchyk called me out, and I answered. A new era in the lightweight division begins on February 14th. Be there in person or watch it live on ESPN because what I’m going to do must be seen to be believed.”

“…..on Friday, February 14, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.”
– This may be my first live boxing event in 2025 as I am a train ride away from NYC.
– I will check pricing as I can typically get a seat at the Theater at MSG for $70 or so.
– Potential issue is Valentine’s Day on Feb 14th and the wife may not be a happy camper……….
Nice! Maybe try dinner first with the wife in NYC then boxing?
“Nice! Maybe try dinner first with the wife in NYC then boxing?”
– Outstanding suggestion to keep the peace.
– I asked her to go with me as she has gone to fights with me before at the Wells Fargo in Philly and The Borgata in Atlantic City, but she doesn’t want to go this time.
– Maybe I’ll just put a picture of myself next to the dinner table with a bottle of wine, some flowers, a card (most important), and a shrimp stuffed w/crab meat dinner from the night before.
– A possible win-win situation……..
“Nice! Maybe try dinner first with the wife in NYC then boxing?”
– I have decided to take your advice, my friend.
– See the end of all the posts for my new game plan.
– Take care.

I wish they would stop having ali Walsh fight. At least it is not on the main feed.
Damn, you think he should retire? Clearly he isn’t going anywhere but I don’t mind him.
Agreed- I’m not a fan but the kid needs to make a living
No, Lucie, I think he should just stop being shown on any cards. Name recognition that’s all this is.
Fair enough. If he was just Nico Walsh, the only way he’d get on this card would be as an opponent for Mielnicki.
Why the hate on him? Has put in the work to get better and is also excellent commentator on the cards he does.
Be careful taking the train and attending the fight. Crazy times…
“Be careful taking the train and attending the fight. Crazy times…”
– Thank you for your response.
– I always try to know what’s going on around me (situational awareness).
– The NJ Transit train along the Northeast Corridor is generally safe.
– The subways in NYC are also generally safe, but every now and then someone does crazy sh%t.
– I carry a can of bear mace in my pocket, just in case I run into any bear trouble in the Big Apple:)
– Take care.

The question I have: is Keyshawn a special fighter? Berinchyk can fight so Davis is gonna have a long night and a tough time.
As tempting as it’ll be for you to go to the fight, Gary, you’ll probably need to take another train to a hotel afterwards as I don’t think your wife will want you home that night if you ditch her on Valentine’s Day. C’mon, bro…is it really worth it?
You all married the wrong dang women!
“C’mon, bro…is it really worth it?”
– Thank you for your response.
– I think that I will take “Ebox’s” advice from the beginning of the post.
– I can make her dinner at 3pm on Valentine’s Day, catch the 5:30pm train to NYC, and be in my seat at 7pm in time for the first non-televised undercard bout.
– Tickets went on pre-sale today and I can get a seat for $80 including all fees.
– NYC here I come on Feb 14th !!!!!!!!!
Edit:
– First non-televised undercard bout is 5pm.
– Need to take the 3:30 train.
– Looks like she’s getting Valentine’s Day lunch and not dinner…………
