At the Tokyo Dome in the center of our Japanese capital, Mike Tyson fought twice in 1988 and 1990. His opponents were Tony Tubbs (TKO2) and James Buster Douglas (KO by 10). The Tokyo Dome will be used for vaccinations against COVID-19 from August. Very convenient from the viewpoints of traffic and well-known place, the Dome will be welcomed by people of Bunkyo Ward where it is located. Toshikazu Yamaguchi, the president of the Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings, visited Prime Miniter Yoshihide Suga and offered the use of the Dome–free of charge–for the sake of faster vaccinations. Suga greatly appreciated the generous proposal and will have it concretely materialized by the Tokyo Metropolis most probably from August on.

Former three-weight world king Jorge Linares (47-5, 29 KOs) has warned WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (25-0, 15 KOs) that he is stepping up to a whole new level on Saturday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, live worldwide on DAZN.

“A fight with me is a different level,” said Linares. “I can show so many styles, I’m naturally fast and strong, I don’t have a lot of KOs, but he knows I can punch. The June 19 Triller PPV featuring undisputed lightweight champion ‘Takeover’ Teófimo López vs. ‘Ferocious’ George Kambosos Jr., will split the music and boxing into two separate parts, however, there will still be undisclosed “entertainment” between fights.

A purse bid for the Patrick Wojcicki vs. Esquiva Falcao IBF middleweight eliminator for the #1 postion took place at the IBF office today, May 25, 2021 at 12:00PM EST. Present at the purse bid were Carl Moretti for Top Rank and Chris Meyer and Tom Dallas for Wasserman Boxing. Wasserman Boxing won bidding $175,579.00 for the bout while Top Rank bid $110,000.00. The bout must take place within 90 days.

Lewis Ritson (21-2, 12 KOs) will face Jeremias Ponce (27-0, 17 KOs) in a final eliminator for the IBF super lightweight world title at the Vertu Motors Arena, Newcastle on June 12, live on Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN in the US.
