Briggs: Let’s poll it! Me or Roy against Tyson?

[yop_poll id=”6″]

Former heavyweight champion Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs (60-6-1, 53 KOs) is again making it clear why a fight between he and ring legend Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) should happen. Briggs was responding to what he feels is hesitancy on the part of former four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (66-9, 47 KOs) to face Tyson in November.

“I personally don’t think a lot of people want to see Tyson vs ‘Little Roy,'” said Briggs. “A matchup between Mike and I makes a lot more sense for many reasons. Think of what the build-up leading up to the fight would be like. We are both from the same neighborhood mean streets. It would be the battle of Brooklyn! Continue reading “Briggs: Let’s poll it! When super welterweight contender Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin beat Terrell Gausha in a WBC eliminator on Saturday night, he set up a possible rematch with his nemesis WBC champion Jermell Charlo, who handed Lubin his only career loss, a devastating first round knockout in October 2017. “I think Jermell Charlo is going to come out on top against Jeison Rosario,” said Lubin. “I’m ready for a rematch if he can take care of business like I did. I changed up a lot since the first fight. I have a master trainer in my corner in Kevin Cunningham, along with my longtime trainer Jason Galarza. I’m just all around a better fighter since the first time we fought.” Continue reading “Lubin hoping to get rematch with Charlo”
