World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight champion Carlos Cañizales of Venezuala and Mexico’s Esteban Bermúdez said they’re ready for Friday’s fight at a press conference held on Wednesday at a renowned gym in Mexico City.

The fighters had their first face-to-face and are already feeling what their fight will be like. “I see him eager to win, I see his spirit. I hope he comes prepared and we put on a good show,” said the champion.

Bermudez stated, “I feel happy and excited for the opportunity that the champion is giving me. We come prepared to win”.

The weigh-in for the fight will take place this Thursday at noon in Mexico City.

Estrella TV will air the fight in the U.S.

We used to complain when HBO and Showtime scheduled competing cards at the same time. On June 19, get ready for the mother of all head-to-head viewing showdowns with ESPN, DAZN, Showtime, and two PPV shows all running at approximately the same time.

The 10-round featherweight showdown between NABF champion Adam “BluNose” Lopez (15-2, 6 KOs) and former junior featherweight world champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe (21-2, 15 KOs) will now open the ESPN telecast Saturday, June 19 from The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Lopez-Dogboe was originally slated to be seen only on ESPN+.

The main event marks the return of undefeated WBA/IBF bantamweight world champion and pound-for-pound elite Naoya “Monster” Inoue against Michael “Hot and Spicy” Dasmarinas, while WBO female junior lightweight champion Mikaela Mayer will make her first title defense in the co-feature versus former two-weight champion Erica Farias.

The opening bout on the Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul PPV will feature former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, formerly known on the gridiron as Chad Ochocinco, against MMA journeyman Brian Maxwell. Although the 43-year-old Johnson is making his pro boxing debut in “a one-time thing,” he compares his style to none other than “The Drunken Master” himself.

“I’m transitioning that flair you saw from me on the football field all into this sport,” said Johnson. “To me, my style is like Emanuel Augustus. Once I got those basic fundamentals down to a tee, I could add that trickery to my game.”

Junior welterweight Michael Dutchover (14-1, 10 KOs) faces Ivan Leon Benitez (14-4-1, 6 KOs) in an eight-rounder on Sunday, June 6, at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, California. The bout will be streamed on Thompson Boxing’s website, Facebook and YouTube pages.

The six round co-main event will see junior middleweight Richard “Cool Breeze” Brewart Jr. (9-0, 4 KOs) against Donte Stubbs (6-1, 2 KOs). In the opening six-rounder, super bantamweight Jose “Tito” Sanchez (6-0, 4 KOs) meets Andrew Strode (6-0, 1 KO).

Showtime has set its announce team for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul PPV event on Sunday, June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The lineup will include Showtime’s regular crew plus three comedians. Joining host Brian Custer will be the comedic duo Desus Nice and The Kid Mero. As usual, Mauro Ranallo, Al Bernstein, and Abner Mares will handle the ring action. Comedian Brendan Schaub will serve as roving reporter. Jimmy Lennon Jr. will be the ring announcer.

Bogdan Dinu is determined to show Daniel Dubois that actions speak louder than words in their big fight. The pair clash for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title at Telford International Centre on June 5, live on BT Sport.

Australian heavyweight champion Justis Huni (4-0, 3 KOs) went the distance for the first time in his pro career, taking a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over Christian Ndzie Tsoye (5-4-2, 4 KOs) on Wednesday night at the ICC Exhibition Centre, Sydney, NSW, Australia. Huni was in command all the way, but didn’t come close to stopping Tsoye. Scores were 98-92, 99-91, 99-91.

Next up for Huni is a June 16 clash with Australia’s biggest boxing PPV attraction former rugby league star Paul Gallen.

Unbeaten light heavyweight Isaac Hardman (10-0, 8 KOs) stopped veteran Robert Berridge (30-8-4, 22 KOs) in round eight.

‘I’m undisputed at 135, Taylor is undisputed at 140. Hopefully we can make that fight happen and I can become two-time undisputed.

Undisputed lightweight world champion ‘The Takeover’ Teofimo Lopez, (16-0, 12 KOs), swung open the doors to his training camp, City Athletic Boxing Gym in Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon for a huge amount of media. At the Tokyo Dome in the center of our Japanese capital, Mike Tyson fought twice in 1988 and 1990. His opponents were Tony Tubbs (TKO2) and James Buster Douglas (KO by 10). The Tokyo Dome will be used for vaccinations against COVID-19 from August. Very convenient from the viewpoints of traffic and well-known place, the Dome will be welcomed by people of Bunkyo Ward where it is located. Toshikazu Yamaguchi, the president of the Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings, visited Prime Miniter Yoshihide Suga and offered the use of the Dome–free of charge–for the sake of faster vaccinations. Suga greatly appreciated the generous proposal and will have it concretely materialized by the Tokyo Metropolis most probably from August on.

Former three-weight world king Jorge Linares (47-5, 29 KOs) has warned WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (25-0, 15 KOs) that he is stepping up to a whole new level on Saturday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, live worldwide on DAZN.
