  • Munguia’s name is now in the hat at 168. DelaHoya is calling out for Munguia-Canelo in September, why not? I don’t think he stands a chance of beating Canelo, but he’s as ready as he’ll ever be. I think there are 3 kings at Supermiddle, then the top contender is a distant 4th. Plant, The Charlos, Munguia, Mbilli, Berlanga are all intriguing names, but the best they could do is survive against Canelo, Benavidez and Morrell.

  • I believe that Benavidez is first in line for Canelo. What about a Morrell vs Munguia fight to determine the opponent for the winner.

    • I thought there was serious talk about Jermell Charlo being next in line? We would all love to see Canelo-Benavidez, but probably won’t happen at least until September. I really like the idea of Morrell vs Munguia; I think it will elevate the careers of both fighters. It will be Morrells toughest test to date and I think he’ll win without too much difficulty. For Munguia, he will earn respect for willing to get in deep. No fighter has ever been disrespected for putting themselves to the test. Although Morrell may very well be the best at 168, this isn’t the fight DLH wants for Munguia because Morrell is not the cash cow at 168lb
