    • No he lost because Ugas was more efficient. Manny threw 800 punches. He was trying to win.

    • Mort: i can agree to an extent. Mayweather did put on a wonderful boxing clinic. Absolutely wonderful! But I cannot agree that he was being charitable or overly generous
by not Ko’ing pacman. I mean c’mon. When was the last time Floyd ko’d a real fighter? I dont count the mcgregor fight cuz well, hes not a real boxer. Ortiz back in 2011? Hands down for an apology. Nope, doesnt count.. It was Hatton back in 2007. If he cld have KO’d Pacman, bet ur ass he wld have.

      • Oh Morty Mort, dont get so emotional like a 12 year old girl. im not sure what ur idea is of “fucking somebody up” is but, it was definitely not that fight. Boxing clinic yes, but he did NOT fuck Pac up. C’mon man, get it together. I can tell u do know some boxing. Prob never stepped in the ring like most of us on this site, but thats ok… speaketh Boychik

    • Wow, what a dumb ass comment. Charitable, you crazy. I usually don’t answer comments but this has to be the dumbest comment ever. Let me see, this comment was coming from a real boxing fan…

  • Props to Ugas for the win, he fought a clever rather than exciting fight and got the win over Pacman.

No one beats father time, at 42 and after 26 years as a pro, fighting at world championship level for almost 23 of them, time finally caught up with Manny, and still he put in a strong showing, no shame in losing like that.

I frst became aware of him 18 years ago when he shocked the great Barerra in 2003, after that he fought against the best in several divisions, including 3 fights with Erik Morales, 4 with JMM and a string of impresive victories over David Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, Dela Hoya, Margarito, Vargas, Mattysse, Broner and Thurman. What a career!
One thing I really liked about Manny was how he was always so humble in victory and respectful to his opponents. What a guy, what a fighter, thanks for the memories!

    • True words Jim Bob. That one thumbs down is nothing but a sad hater!

Manny, Holyfield, Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard, are the greatest fighter I’ve seen since Ali.

Any other fighter is nothing but a poser.

      • My thumbs down is how you put yourself out there as a boxing fan. Nice and easy name drops, but you missed too much.

          • 1. Manny wouldn’t aggree to steroid testing. Arum balked thinking his fighter should get 50/50. Then once agreed with fighters Arum wanted an outside constructed stadium to seat 50000. Floyd had contracts against that. Arum only came to the table once his fighter got knocked the F out. Then networks delayed it. FYI!

  • Manny was like, you know what? Ugas bored me too. I could barely stay awake.

  • pacquioa made 28 million while ugas made less than 2 million Pacquioa won RIP

  • 72 fights – few losses along the way, that’s an old school record. As Jim Bob said, majority of his career was at championship level.
Such a record will not be seen again at elite level.

  • according booboy his assistant trainer pacquioa legs had craps and he wasnt able to move side to side thats why pacquioa lost the fight!!

  • Manny is a classy guy. A 2year layoff at his age will slow you down for sure. Trying not to take away too much from Ugas but this was a Manny who probably shouldn’t have fought. And he should retire or have a real soft matchup for a finale in the Philippines. Sucks to see a legend go.

  • I just came to eat crow. I figured Ugas would be the better boxer but the judges would rob him considering a possibility for another big Paq fight and another paid vacation for the judges. Ugas controlled the fight despite the commentators trying to convince us otherwise. Got to be tough for Spence missing his opportunity to reach superstardom

  • Not looking forward to seeing ugas fight in the future. I found this fight really boring & it looked like like either he was scared to open up and get hit or more likely just was happy to fight with minimal effort. He could of gone for the Knockout but seemingly lacked the motivation to do so.

  • I am sure Pacman will do a great job. Anyone can do a better job than the money laundering, terrorist financing, Delaware Rapist, with the drug addict kid, and his bite addiction dog.

We believe in you, Pacman. Now that your boxing career is 1,000% over.

    Speaketh … Mort.

  • I’m 80/20 with Manny. I loved his post fight interview. It was very inspirational. However, he’s getting into a habit of making excuses when he loses. Mayweather it was his “shoulder” and with Ugas it was his “legs”. If he would have won those fights he would have never mentioned them. Its common knowledge most fighter don’t show up 100% and make due. His career was amazing but its time to hang them up.

Manny has one more fight and that is with President Duerte. I’m predicting Manny will lose by 10th round TKO.

  • manny beat great fighters and lost to great fighters, even though he lost the fight the other night to fight at that level at his age is remarkable, its harder for lower weigh division to get away with being older, and if he did cheat( ,meaning steroids,) along the way i’m sure he’s not the only one

  • You can never beat Father Time! What Father time gives you Mother Nature takes it away! Let’s face it. When Pac-Man took off 25 months to fight again, that is a bad strategic move to fight again even against Ugas. Spence would have desrtroyed him, in my opinion.

  • Some pretty stupid comments on here – pac man is a legend – an 8th div champ that beat every just about name in the sport. Kill or be killed fighter / looked to KO his opponent every round in every weight. 5’5. Not a legend, don’t be stupid. Everyone can be accused of juicing, read any of the books on Floyd they accuse him too and he fought like a bitch ever since the gatti fight.
