It’s amazing Wladimir went nearly 12 years as champion. Like him or not, I am impressed with Wladimir’s background; PhD, military officer, gold metal Olympic fighter, can speak multiple languages, and 12 year professional boxing champion. That’s a lot to accomplish in one’s lifetime. Props to him for his accolades.
Its great to have a 40lbs weight, 1feet height, and 18″ reach advantage against your opponents. And prob the greatest trainer to teach him (Emanuel Steward) how to utilize his those physical gifts. He had the perfect mix for the perfect time. We have a Heavyweight champ now with the same advantages but still needs to cheat.
NJ, you are right that Steward brought out the best in Wlad and maximized his skills.
Vlad should make a comeback, he’s young, strong and very smart.. probably one of the smartest fighters out there…
