  • Fury should fight like a mexican, not dress like one to get more viewers.
He was dressed like Uncle Sam last time. What a clown

  • Fury’s current weight is the same weight Wilder wants to have in the rematch. Wilder feels that he was too light (212 lbs at the weigh in) when he fought Fury and that his punching power was therefore limited. In other words, his plan is to sacrifice his athleticism and ring movement in favor of power. This could play into Fury’s hands because he moves incomparably faster than Wilder at this weight. Wilder’s weight increase also means that he has given up trying to become a technically sound boxer. He only trusts his power and nothing else. I think this is too one-dimensional and will backfire.

    • Stonefree – Wilder has stated from here on out he wants to be absolutely no less than 220, and probably about 225 or 230, but there are no plans or desire by him to ever be 250-255.

      • Brian: last December, Wilder said that he would like to be 245 at the fight (direct quote: “my goal was always to be 245”), which means he will be around 235 or more at the weigh in. But you are right, he will not want to come in over 250, while Fury usually weighs in a bit over 250.

Wilder’s highest weight so far was 229 lbs in his fights against McCreary and Molina.

The gist of the matter is that Wilder and his team want to make sure that Wilder’s weight is close to Fury’s.

  • Fury’s got a lot of nerve talking all that shit about Ruiz being fat lol, look at Fury’s big ass gut he has no business talking about fat!

    • Bobby: what do you think should be Fury’s ideal fighting weight? Wilder is 2 inches shorter than Fury and weighed up to 230 lbs in his fights. Does he look fat to you? Wilder is 2 inches taller and doesn’t have a stereotype athletic body. I think any weight between 240 lbs and 260 lbs should be considered a good weight for Fury. His ideal fight weight is probably around 250 lbs, depending on the opponent. In short, Fury may not have the physique of a role model athlete, but he won’t come in “fat” into the Wallin fight.

Andy Ruiz is 6’2″ and weighed in 268 lbs in his last fight. This means that he walks around 290-300 lbs between fights. I think that can legitimately be called “fat”. But who cares – as long as they keep winning, their weight shouldn’t be mentioned. I for one, don’t think that Ruiz can afford to come in with that much weight on the long run. But he knows that and he wants to weigh less for the AJ rematch.

  • Fury is as brash and braggadocious as anybody in the history of boxing. He’s got charisma and rhythm in his banter, so he never comes across looking like a fool ala Adrien broner. But, he doesn’t back up all that smack talk with a fighting style to match. It is why I still think Anthony Joshua is the best representative as the heavyweight champion of the world, and will be hoping he regains it in December. He is just more fitting as the champion, and I am an American saying that.

    • I think a lot of the Fury 2019 we are seeing is to a good part influenced by Arum who wants to groom him into a megastar. Fury has a brilliant mind and Arum knows how to turn this mind (as well as his boxing skills) into money.

I also think that Joshua will bounce back, but I am not so sure anymore he can beat Fury. I think Fury has improved more over the past few years than Joshua.

It seems to me that Fury is about to reach his peak in 2020.

But let’s see how he will do today :))

  • Count me among the millions who have no interest in Fury fights. I think he is absolutely pathetic. Pathetic-looking, pathetic-acting, and pathetic as a fighter.
