Undefeated IBF mandatory challenger ‘Ferocious’ George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10 KOs) held court for the South Florida media at his home gym, Centeno’s Sweatbox Boxing Gym on Thursday afternoon. Kambosos is training for his highly anticipated world title clash with undisputed lightweight world champion ‘The Takeover’ Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) set for June 19 at Miami’s loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins and live on pay-per-view.
“Lomachenko didn’t throw enough punches in the first six rounds, I will be much better than that against Lopez. Lomachenko had been out for 400 days, that wasn’t really him in the ring, it was more like half of a Lomachenko. Lopez got lucky in a very close fight. I saw a lot of holes in Lopez’s game that I will exploit on June 19.”
“Lopez is a fugazi, a fraud, a fake. He’s got a fake persona filled with contradictions. Two months ago, he was talking about how gone Pacquiao was, now he’s all over him because of the Spence fight announcement. What you see with me is real and what you get is real.”
‘I’m more Brooklyn than Lopez is. He’s not from Brooklyn, he’s from here in Davie, FL where he went to school. It’s just a fake persona saying he’s from Brooklyn.”
“Whatever they’re saying, three rounds this and four rounds that. I’ll be laughing at him, coming forward and blasting away every round and after the third round, he’s in very big trouble.”
“We’ve got a great game plan. When I fight it’s full tunnel vision and there’s no way I’m not coming out victorious. I won’t be over-emotional at what he’s said leading up to the fight.”
“I don’t care what his Dad says about me, he’s never had a fight in his life. If he’s got a problem my Dad is here too and they can have a crack.”
“I think it’s fantastic to fight in front of such a big crowd. Who doesn’t love a big stadium fight? The date change is nothing to me, two weeks is easy, I’ve waited my whole life for this.”
“The tremendous support I get from the American boxing fans is due to them wanting me to beat Lopez. They can see right through his fake persona.”
“I’ve sparred over 250 rounds with Manny Pacquiao, he told me if I’m as good against Lopez as I was in the gym against him that I’ll be victorious and take home all the belts.”
“The perfect victory for me is just win by any means necessary.”
Im going for Kambosos Jr in this fight, I dont know if he wins but he will deff put up a great fight.
Kambosos Jr in 12!
Teo in 2 round brutal beatdown. He’s going to take Georgie Boy to the honduras and I don’t mean the country!
guadalaharry… Based on what?
Based on his unproven “talent” Sonny Boy! His last 2 wins were both split decisions against Selby and Bey who certainly are NOT world beaters! The rest of his opponents are all no-names. Yes, the Lopezes are annoying braggarts and may deserve a comeuppance but it won’t happen against Kambosos. Plus he would derail great possible matchups with Tank, Haney, Garcia, and maybe Josh Taylor!
He’s a good bet alright
If Georgie Boy’s hands move as quick as his mouth Lopez will be horizontal inside a minute.
I think Kambosos is being over looked by Lopez who is very full of himself. I can see Kambosos out working Lopez with his fast hands.
we will see…
i do think many are tired of hearing Lopez talk
Mr. Lopez is NOT a fugazi. But you are, Mr. Kambosos. You lost your last fight by at least 9 rounds, but was awarded a bullshit decision. Loma, as great as he was, is too small for the lightweight division. Lopez will do very well against Tank, Ryan Garcia, Haney, and others.
You are a punk, Mr. Kambosos. And you will be exposed. This is more than a fight, Mr. Kambosos. It is an impeachment trial. And you, Sir, will be removed from the ranks of contention, and the ranks of the undefeated, when you get KTFO.
Wow!!! You’re not messing around on this one.
I’m an Aussie and hope that George Jnr wins this fight but he needs to do more bodywork and not just headhunt ……..and beware the left hook from Lopez,it’s a game changer !!!
Also an Aussie, George talks the fight and rightly so but no chance of beating lopez I think Lopez will make a statement and destroy him
I’m looking forward to this one. Kambosos just squeezed past Selby and I would have had no issue if Lee had got the decision. However, Kambosos looked good when he punched but his output was low. He needs to up this to have a chance.
I am also looking forward to this one. I have to be honest, I never heard of George, Jr, but all that I am looking for is a good scrap.
Take care.

Although I think Kambosos is in over his head here I sure hope he can pull off the upset. Lopez and his Dad are 2 cocky loud mouths who are straight up full of themselves and come across as fakes like Kambosos says. I seen where they were talking shit about Shannon Briggs then backed down when confronted like the frauds they are.
Oh oh two badasses in the ring, watchout!!
Lopez is gonna drum Kambosos. This cat went to hell and high water against Lee Selby. Like the great Tito Trinidad once said”: “calling out the devil and facing him are two different things”.
This may be Teo’s toughest test to date. Kambosos doesn’t know how to lose. he has a good shot at pulling off the huge upset!
Kambosos is going to find out how to lose.
A fraud doesn’t KO Commey and Best one of the great technicians of the sport. Kambosos said enough and while Teo talks a lot he’s done more in his last five fights than 90% of the champions today. Kambosos let your hands do the talking because you have a big task ahead of you in just a few weeks away.
I really want Kambosos to win this fight but I don’t think he will. I’ve only seen him fight once and it was his last fight against Selby, he didn’t look like anything special to me. In fact, he looked extremely sloppy and in my opinion was very lucky to be awarded the winner. I’m going to say Lopez stops him mid to late rounds. Hope I’m wrong though.
George is a decent fighter, but Teo is at a different level. This fight will not be close! Either a one sided decision or TKO/KO for Lopez….
agreed but George is getting blasted out of there
George please show him that he is only a loud mouth punk like his Daddy.
I always root against the guy with the ridiculous neck tattoos.
Other than having blinding speed, one punch knockout power with either hand, and having comfortably beaten a top pound-for-pound fighter (Loma) in his last fight, Lopez is obviously over-rated? Kambosos is not in the same universe as Lopez. He is just hoping he can make him (Lopez) so angry with his ridiculous comments that he (Lopez) comes in wild and makes mistakes. This will be a one sided destruction. I wouldn’t be surprised to Kambosos is knocked unconscious, or stopped on his stool.
Comfortably beaten? Ring rust lost that fight for Loma. I like Lopez, think he’s got a chance to be great but Loma had him questioning himself in the late rounds. If he hadn’t waited til the 7th to start throwing, he wins that fight. I agree with you about Kambo, right now, he’s all talk. Let’s hope for a good fight.
Kambosos Jr is 100% correct regarding Lomachenko in the Lopez fight, but he won’t have what it takes to defeat Teofimo. True, the brash Lopez and his father are 2 pricks, but Lopez is the better fighter than the Australian and it will show June 19th.
Ferocious has the passion and belief and expects to deliver a strong fight, on the night. Though Tiofemo has circa 10% more punch force which could knock the windOut. Ferocious will need patience, distance and accuracy. Though fighting like Pacman with the footwork could do it. 12 excellent rounds minus 30 seconds will be the most entertaining.
Kambosis will surprise all you Lopez lovers, you want to talk about his fight against Selby, he has 10 K.O’s. Lopez didn’t look that great against Loma, it’s not hard when your opponent doesn’t throw punches for half the fight. George adapts to any situation. Kambosis in 12, hopefully in 3 that would be hilarious, unlikely but it’s boxing
Loma is known for confusing most fighters even the best so there is no Shame in that. Unfortunately the combination of speed, ring IQ, power and ring generalship from the bigger fighter made him reluctant. Other good champions would’ve just went 12rds like that and claim they thought they did enough to win. Loma tried 2 rounds too late.
