All action WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez (17-1, 13 KOs) will defend his world title against Francisco Rodriguez Jr (33-4-1 24 KOs) on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez’s WBA world title clash with Callum Smith at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on December 19, live on DAZN in 200+ countries and territories worldwide and on TV Azteca in Mexico.
Martinez puts the famous green and gold strap on the line for the third time and comes into the bout fresh from a savage second round KO win over Moises Calleros in Mexico City in October.
More undercard fights will be announced later this week.
JC Martinez is an amazing all action fighter. He is ready to jump to 115, and there is where he will find defining fights. The115 division will welcome him with Juan Francisco Estrada, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Erwin Ancajas, Roman Gonzalez, Kosei Tanaka, Kazuto Ioka and a big group of good fighters. Rodriguez Jr is no walk in the park. He’s matured a lot since his last loss and has 14 wins in a row. I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls of the upset. One thing is for sure this fight will be a barn burner!!
