IBF#1 lightweight George Kambosos Jnr (19-0, 10 KOs) talked to Sky Sports after defeating former IBF champion Lee Selby (28-3, 9 KOs) on Saturday at the Wembley Arena, London to become the IBF mandatory challenger to Teofimo Lopez.
“I told you I’d do it. I’m too fast, too strong, too aggressive, too smart, too powerful — everything. World #1 mandatory. Lopez, you know what it is now. Let’s do it Down Under. Two warriors, two lions, let’s go to war. Let’s do it — I want that fight.
“I’m going to train tonight, I promise you I’m going to train tonight because I want that world title. I’m coming.”
Not based on that performance
Blah-blah. Kambosos is a laaaaaast resort because Lopez is looking for bigger fish, and hell will freeze over before Lopez fights in Australia – especially after that Horn vs. Pacquiao disaster.
At least Kambosos is fully entitled to lawfully blah-blah.
War? Don’t see it, more like a massacre. Lopez easy.
Everyone is overestimating lopez from a shit performace from loma, he aint the beez knees. George has a decent chance here being a smart counter puncher with speed and good power.
Kambosos just doesn’t throw enough punches to beat anyone at the top of the division. Yes, he had trouble catching up to Selby, but that performance told me he’s not at the level of the big boys in the division.
I’d like to see him fight someone who would actually fight him and stay within range. Selby was just too slippery for him. Kambosos really needs to learn how to let his hands go with he’s in close. I’m actually surprised they gave Kambosos the decision. He was the aggressor but Selby was the one punching. I fully expected Selby’s hand to be raised at the end of the fight.
Kambosos in 2!
