  • The one sided beating that Tyson Fury gave Deontay Wilder is one Deontay and his fans will never forget. That type of beating will have a psychological effect on Deontay, and even tho Deontay has heart and dangerous power against lesser opponents, he could never beat a well trained and bigger and motivated Tyson Fury. If Mark Breland wouldn’t have thrown in the towel, Wilder could have gotten seriously hurt and possibly had severe brain trauma. In my opinion if Tyson is at his best, he will not be beaten and he will retire undefeated…
    Props and respect to both…

      • “Idk why people love Wilder so much when the man is not all that much of a fighter to begin with. I know that will piss a lot of people off, but that is my opinion, you don’t have to like it”

42-1–1-41 ko’s all against weaker competition. Fury was his real test and got mangled. Wilder in his whole career had handed pick fighters for a blown up record. I agree Deontay Wilder lost both fights. There should have never been a draw and there is no point in my opinion for a rematch.

    • Steward did a good job as a trainer in raising the bar with Fury’s offense in the recent fight. I think Steward’s work needs to be recognized and Fury himself was grateful for such a great opportunity. I personally feel since Fury’s effective aggressiveness last Saturday coupled with his exceptional boxing ability will put him in line to beat Joshua. Joshua will need to take chances in such a fight to take control and that’s tough to do when someone in front of you is one step ahead of the game.

      • Manny did the same Kronk thing with Lennox Lewis albeit the competition was much higher and he had the fighter much like Tyson with natural ability boxing IQ . Every time there was a big dangerous opponent like Golata/Briggs/Grant was to jump on them be its and just push back and beat up the bully.

  • “I don’t know why people love Wilder so much, I mean He ain’t all that much of a fighter in my opinion. I know that is going to piss a lot of people off but that’s my opinion, you don’t have to like it.”

From watching the man over the years I see that he is not a balanced fighter. He is often off balanced and yes he has power but his first 30 fights of his career were hand picked nobodies with poor records. Anyone with great power can score a knockout and accumulate that kind of record with that kind of competition. Wilder technically didn’t have a real heavyweight contender victory under his record. His real first test was Tyson Fury and in my opinion lost twice. No point of doing a 3rd fight. Fury f*ked him up in the rematch and Wilder did really no damage. I actually was expecting Fury to win because like I said Wilder doesn’t impress me much. Fury defeated klitschko and yes klitschko was an older fighter at the time but I don’t think from what I have seen from Wilder can ever beat klitschko or any of the major past heavyweight. He just has a blown up record with the power to get a few impressive victories.

    • Agree about Wilder totally. He was terrified of WK and made to look good against weaker opponents. Wilder with his power or AJ would still have never beaten Lewis,Holyfield, Tyson, and would include Bowe if he had not eat so much;-) . Only TF would have a chance for 8 rounds

  • I pray that Wilder’s family and team do NOT take an immediate rematch with Fury, he will be beaten even worse…I honestly don’t think they will let this happen, maybe let him have a few B level fights to see how he reacts and is the same fighter he once was…

  • AJ has next to no chance against Fury in this shape. The biggest puncher around could’nt keep Fury down. Joshua folded under pressure against Ruiz. A Tyson Fury in this shape would retire Joshua. If Fury stays mentaly in shape, he retires undefeated.. The Gypsy King is #1. Way above the rest…

    • AJ is not Wilder and take nowt away from Fury’s awesome win but of course AJ does a very good chance.
60/40 fight .Styles make fights neither of the 2 champion brits are 1 trick ponies. But for now lets enjoy the fairy tail of the gypsy king.

  • The odds look about right. But boxing is about styles and who knows who would win Fury vs Joshua. My bet would be on Fury. I actually hope Wilder calls it a day. The fight against Fury has made a person worry about Wilder’s health.

  • As much as Fury was better than Wilder I do not agree that boxers get away with punching behind the head. Hitting below the belt is treated as more serious than hitting behind the head which is hugely more life threatening.

    • I agree, but most of the time it’s because the boxer getting head there is either ducking too low or turning the head as the punch is being thrown, as the case in both Fury/Wilder I where Fury was knocked down and in the rematch where Wilder turned and put his hand up, that made the punch land farther back than was intended, but he was actually hit ON the ear, not in the back of the head…Intentional blows back there should be immediate point deduction…

      • Dave R, agree the point re a boxer ducking too low etc., but the same way a punch is never allowed below the belt, intentional or not, a punch behind the head, even behind the ear, should never be allowed, it is just too dangerous a punch.

  • For a man who got into boxing as late as he did Wilder has done quite well. Not well enough to beat Fury, maybe not well enough to get in the HOF, but he’s taken his limited skills as far as he could.

  • Fury beat Wilder and got a draw. He beat the hell out of him in the rematch so why a third fight? He and Joshua on the same card and then meeting could be a good build up in the UK.

  • Fury vs Joshua for ALL the money.
    Btw
i have been pointing out Wilders’ lack of skill, poor defense and non improvement, etc.. for quite a while.
My question is, Where are all the many self proclaimed boxing experts that berated me? told me i dont know anything about boxing? and even suggested that i train him? etc…?
    Gone? Silent? Lol

    • Wilder is a good boxer, a good power puncher, he’s not a great fighter and never will be. He’s an off balanced fighter who had hand picked fights his whole career against mediocre to poor fighters. He has a blown up record once he got a real opportunity against a true great fighter he gets mangled. Any of the past greats would destroy Wilder easily there is not one true contender or name in the past or present that you could say he could beat without question. 41 ko’s in 42 fights why is that? Look at who he has fought lmfao, who they?

  • Wilder has said he is definitely invoking the rematch clause ASAP, and by contract, the fight must happen within 6 months. It makes no sense to me, and if Wilder loses for a third time, his stock goes in the toilet. Interestingly, he blames Kenny Bayless (among other things) for the loss. I thought Kenny Bayless overly protecting him was the only reason he made it to the 7th round. He ruled knockdowns as slips and routinely stopped the action for weird stuff when Fury was clearly getting the better of Wilder. Honestly, Bayless was appearing to favor Wilder so much it had me questioning his professionalism.

  • Wilder blaming the loss on his 40 lb costume. Says it took a lot out of his legs. Maybe when Wilder is in the gym, he will stop skipping leg day. During the fight, they said he gets his power from his legs…what legs? He has the legs of a 130lb school boy.

  • DW was always overhyped and protected by those around him who know his limitations and kept him away from Wladimir K, Dillian Whyte, and Joshua, all fighters who represent ko power and skills with ambition . He only wanted old Ruiz and what he thought was a not yet ready Fury in Its fight. He reminds me of (Jeff Lacey and Michael grant big american bangers who would always get exposed by the real champs). What nonsense usa hype about him the hardest hitting hw of all time and trying to kid us he is best of the 3 when the other 2 have beaten higher opposition and both beat Wladimir, who he was terrified of fighting . Fury’s skill set is similar to Lennox Lewis not saying he is as good but the highest of all current hw’s so he must go in as favorite against AJ.

  • For the record I posted this when it said they outweighed wilder by 40+ lbs(3 likes and 2 dislikes). I think I hit the nail COMPLETELY on the head.. You decide:

“I just want to note something that seemingly nobody has touched on.. Wilder is at an all time heavy at 231. Why does that dwarf what seems to be a bigger issue with fury’s weight… I’ll explain. Wilder has put on what appears 15-16lbs since his last fight and as i said his all time heavy. YES it is for sure muscle, not fat! His shape is clearly undeniable. He looks jacked! Here is the issue: wilder has added muscle to his arms which will make them heavier to throw and hold up. Not to mention the more muscle the more oxygen your body needs to take in and use up. When you consider that Wilder tends to run out of stamina late in fights, historically as it is.. This will only exacerbate this situation which means he will likely gas out much quicker. Fury(if he did actually put on that weight and not wearing weights under his shirt)has no issues with going 12 rounds and hasn’t in the past, even after a 3 year layoff. Now add the fact that Fury is faster than wilder and the muscle that wilder put on will slow him even more. Just an alternative view.”
