In a clash of unbeaten featherweights, Raymond Ford (8-0-1, 4 KOs) and Aaron “Angel Baby” Perez (10-0-1, 6 KOs) battled to an eight round draw. Scores were 77-75 Ford, 78-74 Perez, 76-76.

In his biggest test to date, Matchroom Boxing’s young rising star middleweight Austin “Ammo” Williams (8-0, 6 KOs) from Houston faced off against the battle tested Denis “Mamma’s Boy” Douglin (22-8, 14 KOs) fighting out Las Vegas in an eight rounder. Williams used a consistent body attack and fast hands to fend off the rugged Douglin in the first few rounds and his powerful left hand square on the jaw of Douglin many times throughout the fight to win a unanimous decision, but could not land the decisive blow to put Douglin away. Each time Williams had Douglin hurt and against the ropes, he jumped on him and threw flurries to the head and body, but Douglin never hit the canvas. He did however get warned for rabbit punches and hitting on the break by referee Neal Young, but never lost a point for the fouls. Williams also showed a solid chin as Douglin timed Williams in a couple of exchanges and landed a few big blows of his own, but never hurt Williams. The second half of the fight picked up and Williams took control of the fight and won going away 79-73 twice and 77-75. Williams gained valuable experience against the veteran Douglin who at 32, has been in the ring with world champions George Groves, David Benavidez and Jermell Charlo.

In the opening bout of Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing championship triple-header in Dallas, Texas at American Airlines Center shown live on DAZN and highlighted by the long-awaited unification rematch of Mexico’s Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada and Nicaraguan’s Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, featherweight Raymond Ford (8-0-1, 4 KOs) out of Camden, NJ, squared off against Aaron “Angel Bay” Perez (10-0-1, 6 KOs) from Albuquerque, NM in a battle of unbeatens over eight back and forth rounds.

The southpaw Ford came out from the opening bell and flicked his quick jab and straight right hand as Perez bullied his way forward swinging wildly but landed to the body and head midway through the round and continued into the second round as he connected with a straight right flush on the face of Ford.

In round four, Perez and Ford exchanged blows in the center of the ring as Ford started to land to the body, while Perez continued to swing for the fences. In round six, Perez pushed the action and had Ford back against the ropes where he landed shots to the head and body on occasion. The seventh and eighth round, Ford used his superior boxing to keep Perez on his heels in a hotly contested affair. The judges scores read 78-74 for Perez, 77-75 for Ford and 76-76 for a split draw.
