  • Saunders vs Canelo is a mere sparring match. Saunders has looked rather stagnant in his two fights. If this PPV, what a joke. Should be free on NBC or FOX network.

    • It airs on DAZN so no PPV. Saunders is an undefeated champion and has been on the list of fighters Canelo is ducking. Guess he’ll get hated on no matter what he chooses.

    • More like a hoax. Saunders said out his own mouth he looked horrible and didnt deserve a Canelo fight. Not the haters, he said it himself. Right then, I knew he would be at the top of the list for Canelo fight. Nobody asking to see Saunders vs Canelo.
His team obviously not willing to give the fans the fights they wanna see. Thats why its the fans duty to support the Wilder vs Fury fight. Best fighting the best. I believe thats why he has a prob with Oscar because Oscar was a true champion that fought everybody and took risk. Oscar wants the fights and putting on pressure. They’re different cloth. Canelo obviously doesn’t believe he can deliver wins against the top names the fans asking for.

      • Obviously your statement is all wrong NJ. The most risky fights Canelo had taken, have been against Oscar’s will, and they were against a primes Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara. Oscar is the one behind the aberrations of Canelo vs. JC Chavez Jr. and Rocky Fielding, also we can include the damaged good of Shane Mosley and the monster mismatch vs. Josesito Lopez

        • Oscar is the promoter and have to promote the fight. So if Canelo wants JC Chavez Jr again. ODH will rightfully promote the fight to get the biggest draw. Doesn’t mean thats the fight he wanted. You would need to pay attention to how ODH talks. You can tell he really wants him to fight the best Middleweights. Its obvious he likes Saunders because he didnt look good in last fight. Undefeated against who? Exactly

          • Wrong, Oscar is the mastermaind behind the delay of Canelo vs. Golovkin, that should have happened back in 2015, right after Canelo fought Cotto. If Oscar really wanted the most risky fight for him, the fight against Golovkin should have take place 2 years earlier. Instead Canelo relinquished the title and fought Amir Khan, liam Smith and Chavez Jr. (Risky fights?)

      • NJ boxing: idk man, before Saunders last fight (which he did look like shit) i remember tons of old comments where his name was one at the top of the list by the fans saying Canelo is ducking him and that he would destroy Canelo. Looks like he had a bad fight and everyone is writing him off now. Things change quickly for some fans i guess

      • NJ your wrong. Canelo just had fight rejected by Callum. Another guy Canelo is ducking. LOL

        • That’s because they only offered Smith a fight with no purse. it’s called pricing yourself out of the fight and it can work with the champion offering lowball amounts they know the challengers won’t take. The Brit did look bad against the other Brit he fought in his hometown but it was a style and he wasn’t motivated. Callum is hungry and can punch like a cruiserweight. Canelo knows this and wants no part. Canelo was testing Smith what’s a lowball offer to see if he was going to sell out like kovalev did. Apparently it didn’t work and Callum is staying honorable. Canelo is the biggest fraud in the history of boxing.

  • The selling of Top Rank, if happens, could be one step forward for boxing, it could be the dawn of a new era where DAZN would be emerging as a mega company (assuming they are the ones that have the money to buy TR). Also would be the time to buy some flowers for the funeral of PPV.
Perhaps Arum finally realized his time for retirement is a quarter century pass due.

    • MikeMiguel: Agreed!! This wld be best for all of his fighters as well. They would start getting matched up with descent opponents.

      • This is the best case scenario for Crawford, Jose Ramirez, Zurdo Ramirez and maybe Lomachenko. Al Haymon and PBC seem to have no problems dealing with Eddie Hearn.

  • I wonder what reasons will be said about Saunders to affirm he is not a worthy opponent for Canelo Alvarez. “He has been looking terrible lately ” could be one of them I guess. Saunders and Callum Smith are worthy opponents for any body, despite some off nights they might had had, period. Any boxer at a high level is prone to have poor performances due to ring rust and lacks of motivation. We have seen that many times in the past.
Recently we saw Jo Jo Diaz raising his level after a lackluster performance. Greats of the game went through this too, like Alexis Arguello vs. Jose Torres and Vilomar Fernandez.
If this fight comes to fruition, I expect the best of Saunders, giving Canelo a run for his money and perhaps, who knows an upset might occur

    • It would tickle me death to see Saunders give Canelo a run for the money since it’s boxing entertainment. On the contrary, I am very skeptical and not really feeling it that Saunders will deliver. Saunders seemed so rusty in his last two fights and his physique looked rather soft. I guess every man has a chance to get their sh%^ together. Who knows.

  • What happens now? Nobody’s wanting to do any sevice to the cheap of Golovkin? SMH

  • It should be the other way around. ‘SNAC,’ a dubious entity with a clearly felonious past should be booted from boxing. Why do clean record fighters align themselves with a Victor Conte type is beyond my brain power. I have said in the past, it’s like a daycare ‘knowingly’ hiring an abusive adult with a felonious past.

  • GGG booted out? Wonder what happened. He has really just vanished off the scene.

    • I think these reports coming out may be too premature to jump to conclusions. Hopefully, it was just disagreements over financials or a disputed disclaimer in a contract and not a physical altercation (in any way) putting an injury or lawsuit in his way of fighting.

  • So they throw this gossip out and don’t say why. Why was he thrown out? Was he looking to bring his “big drama show” to another level?
