  • That is so unprofessional how a fighter abuses his contract obligations to make weight. I bet if the governing bodies would be more stricter and lay off the wrist smacking for such behavior, maybe the words “professional fighter” would be more highly rated and respected. How bout they start suspending license to fight for a year for such discipline problems on top of the monetary fines? A failure to make weight simply puts the entertainment concept in boxing in jeopardy, increases health risks to the other opponent should they fight, destroys trust in the sport, and erodes the expectations in the professionalism.
