    • Totally agree. Always heartbreaking seeing fighters not knowing when to just call it a career.

      • Probably broke. Sees all these has-beens and never-was guys making big money with the new ridiculous fad of thriller. Can’t blame him for taking a shot. It’s not like he wasted a lot of time and energy in the gym preparing for this one.

  • Miranda was always so fun to watch. He was kind of mechanical and not so fast, he didn’t have the best chin and his defense wasn’t great, but that man was one of the hardest punchers of his era. He had some of the nastiest knockouts you would ever see, kind of reminded me of a poor man’s version of Julian Jackson.

That’s how I’m going to remember him. I’m just going to ignore this version.

    • His KO of David Banks was highlight reel stuff. Also broke Arthur Abraham’s jaw in a losing effort. Usually came up short against the absolute best because of the reasons you mentioned above, but for most boxing fans, he was once must-see TV.

    • Yeah he was a poor man’s Jackson/Mugabi.

The war with Pavlik effectively ruined him back in 2007, he was never the same after that.

Pretty much the same way Hagler ruined Mugabi.

Shame he’s back, at 40, at HW, insane really.

  • Come on miranda don’t this again, sad you was good at one time!!

  • That is sad. I hope Pantera is ok. He was one of the most electrifying fighters in boxing in his day. The guy he fought is 41 years old, based in Atlanta, GA, but fights almost exclusively in Colombia. Wonder what that’s all about?
