IBF #7 light middleweight Tim Tszyu (14-0, 10 KOs) will clash with Jack Brubaker (16-2-2, 8 KOs) on December 6 in Sydney, NSW, Australia in a bout that will be televised on Foxtel Main Event Pay-Per-View. Tempers are running hot as the fighters hurl insults at each other.
“[Brubaker’s] very cocky, he lives in his own little dream world…he’s going to face reality on December 6,” Tszyu told AAP. Tszyu’s famous father Kostya won’t be at ringside. “Let him stay in Russia,” Tim said. “He’s a bit loud and he gets a bit nervous during the fights so better for him to stay at home and watch it on the TV and we can talk after.”
Sydney-based Brubaker, who is trained by Jeff Fenech, told AAP, “Tim can say all he wants in his monotone quite boring personality…I am an entertaining fighter. Tim is saying he is going to knock me out but the only people he is putting to sleep are the reporters and the boxing fans.”
Great match up!
I really like the way Tszyu is brought along by his team. Its a very hard road to get even into the top 20 of this (or any) division, and it looks like Tim is on his way. Unfortunately, there are rumors that he is not in top shape at the moment, so this fight may be very challenging for him. Brubaker is an all out slugger, so anything is possible.
Brubaker has defeated two fighters with good records in the past 3 years, Suyon Takayama and Tyrone Nurse. Bowyn Morgan or Ben Kite may have been bigger challengers to Tszyu. Brubaker before he won the OPBF welterweight title had a padded record. Tszyu has been a way more active fighter since his pro debut and Brubaker is 5-1-1 in the same amount of time as Tszyu’s pro debut. People will find out if Tszyu is better than Brubaker thinks.
True…BoMan would have been a great choice, but Brubaker should still make the fight interesting.
I hope the rumor that Tszyu is not in top shape is just a rumor….
Jack Brubaker, Danny Kennedy (your last fight) was a novice, 8-0-1 (1 KO), 36¾ yrs old when you fought him, and had come off of a draw against a fighter named William Warburton* with a record of 24-127-9. Is that a win for Brubaker that really builds confidence?, or makes one feel like they accomplished something giving one his first loss? Tim Tszyu’s wins over fighters with bad records were against 2 guys that were 27-10, 27-15, and 4-12, those are the worst records on Tszyu’s win column. I am seeing 9 losing records on Brubaker’s win column.
Tszyu should dick this easy by KO!
I did a write-up on him and though like most son’s of father’s he isn’t near as good but I hope he gets the win.
