Not only is WBA welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas facing undefeated WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. in his hometown, Ugas is being tasked with beating Spence on “Errol Spence Jr. Day.” Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced the proclamation on Monday during a ceremony at trainer Derrick James’ World Class Boxing Gym.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d get my own day from the great city of Dallas and to have everyone come out to support me,” said Spence. “On April 16, I’m going to put on a great show. This day truly means a lot to me. I can do many great things, but only a few people are chosen to have their own day in their city. It’s amazing and I really appreciate that.”
When he is not drinking, smoking pot, and wrecking cars, Spence is a very good boxer. I wish him well.
I hear ya man! Spence is a decent human being and I wish him the best. I hope he doesn’t go and crash any cars anymore the same way I certainly hope that Oscar De LaHoya doesn’t dress up in fishnet panties and stilettos and push up bras.
Bottom line what’s wrong is wrong and both Spence and Oscar have some demons to overcome.
Why are they honoring a coward. Only in Texas country. Jesus !
True boxing historians judge fighter’s for what they do in the ring. Anything else is just noise.
Ugas will never get a decision in the country of Texas.(yes,Texas is not really the USA).The judges there will always & shamelessly pull a home cooking for their hometown boy.
For the love of humanity, take that ridiculous face diaper off!
Good luck Errol Spence junior I wish you keep it up your fighting spirit and be victorious on your day
looks like a close fight with spence getting the decision as for the ppv not for me keeping my money not worth it rather watch u tube fights
Spence is a true inspiration of how to bounce back from major adversity. He’s truly blessed to not only survive but be able to compete against the very best. He did a reckless act with his car but seemed to turn his life around dedicated to family and Boxing. Both fighters have amazing stories of triumph.
