Top Rank will host a press conference next week to officially announce the July 13th boxing card featuring unbeaten featherweight Shakur Stevenson (11-0, 6 KOs) at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This will be the first time the decorated 2016 Olympic silver medalist will fight in front of his hometown fans since turning professional two years ago. Stevenson will face fellow unbeaten Hairon Socarras (22-0-3, 14 KOs) from Cuba who now trains and resides in Miami. Socarras is coming off a fifth-round TKO victory over Jesus Martinez at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL. Stevenson looks to extend his unbeaten streak and inch closer to an eventual world title opportunity.
