Holmes wins, remains unbeaten

Undefeated middleweight prospect Ardreal “Bossman” Holmes (12-0, 5 KOs) returned from a 27-month layoff to take a ten round unanimous decision over Vernon Brown (13-2-1, 9 KOs) on Friday night night at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota. 97-93, 96-94, 98-92.

Lightweight Edwin De Los Santos (14-1, 13 KOs) scored a second round KO over previously unbeaten Luis Acosta (12-1, 11 KOs). De La Santos dropped Acosta in round one and finished him with a left hand at :48 of round two.

Welterweight Giovanni Márquez, the son of former world champion and ShoBox commentator Raul Márquez, won his professional debut by four round unanimous decision against Nelson Morales (2-1, 0 KOs). Scores were 40-36, 39-37, 39-37.

  • Acosta looked like he died with that knockout. he will never be the same after this brutal knockout.

  • Whoever brought Acosta along did nothing good for him. He’s 25 years old and he had a 12-0 record which included no one with a winning record. His first six opponents had not a single win between them when he fought them (and only one of them has won a fight since) and he’s fought three others who only had one. So 75% of his opponents had 1 win or less, then he fights someone like Santos.

  • Holmes better find some power along the way in journey if he wants to win titles and make money or wait just do like the norm now does which is “talk shit” to the top
