Sandoval, Negrete notch wins

WBO #6, WBA #11 flyweight Ricardo “El Niño” Sandoval (18-1, 13 KOs) scored an impressive seventh round TKO over Raymond “Tornado” Tabugon (22-12-1, 11 KOs) on Thursday night at Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, California. Sandoval dropped Tabugon in round two with a counter left hook. Sandoval continued to dominate and the bout was finally waved off in round seven with Tabugon under heavy fire. Time was 1:43.

Bantamweight Oscar “El Jaguar” Negrete (19-2-2, 7 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Alberto “Impacto” Melian (6-2, 4 KOs) to claim the vacant WBA International title. Good action fight with Negrete pulling away late. Scores were 97-93, 98-92, 98-92.

Featherweight Leonardo “Leon” Baez (18-2, 9 KOs) scored an eight round unanimous decision over Moises Flores (25-3, 17 KOs). Scores were 80-72 across the board.

Unbeaten female super fly Sulem Urbina moved to 12-0, 2 KOs after a six round 60-54 3x shutout over Noemi Bosques (12-15-3, 2 KOs).
