Mbilli lays out Mohammedi in five

WBC #9 super middleweight Christian “Solide” Mbilli (21-0, 18 KOs) successfully defended his WBC Continental Americas belt with a spectacular fifth round knockout against Nadjib Mohammedi (44-9, 27 KOs) on Saturday night at the Casino de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was a one-hitter quitter as a crushing Mbilli left hook put Mohammedi on his back and out cold.

In other action, unbeaten super welterweight Artem “Razor” Oganesyan (13-0, 11 KOs) stopped Stephen Danyo (20-4-3, 7 KOs) in round five.

  • Interesting potential in a tough division.
Great talent, smart and a nice personality.
Makes for a terrific interview. Hope he maintains the path forward.

  • Going to be hard to top Leigh Wood, but maybe Mbilli just scored the second best ko of the year with this one. It was ridiculous! Best wishes to Mohammedi!

  • M’Bili is a good fighter with a great amateur pedigree but obviously Mohammedi is way past his prime ! I wish the best to my countryman and sincerely think that he’s ready for bigger things like a title shot.. We will see in the beginning of 2023 in my opinion.
