WBC #9 super middleweight Christian “Solide” Mbilli (21-0, 18 KOs) successfully defended his WBC Continental Americas belt with a spectacular fifth round knockout against Nadjib Mohammedi (44-9, 27 KOs) on Saturday night at the Casino de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was a one-hitter quitter as a crushing Mbilli left hook put Mohammedi on his back and out cold.
In other action, unbeaten super welterweight Artem “Razor” Oganesyan (13-0, 11 KOs) stopped Stephen Danyo (20-4-3, 7 KOs) in round five.
Interesting potential in a tough division.
Great talent, smart and a nice personality.
Makes for a terrific interview. Hope he maintains the path forward.
Going to be hard to top Leigh Wood, but maybe Mbilli just scored the second best ko of the year with this one. It was ridiculous! Best wishes to Mohammedi!
M’Bili is a good fighter with a great amateur pedigree but obviously Mohammedi is way past his prime ! I wish the best to my countryman and sincerely think that he’s ready for bigger things like a title shot.. We will see in the beginning of 2023 in my opinion.
