WBO jr lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko will return May 12 in an ESPN-televised bout at Madison Square Garden in New York City. There was talk of Loma challenging WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares, however those negotiations have hit a snag because Linares’ promoter Golden Boy is planning an HBO card the same night featuring a replay of the prior week’s GGG-Canelo rematch. According to ESPN, the May 12 date is locked in and Lomachenko will be fighting someone that night at MSG.
