Kovalev returns May 14 on Trillerverz 5

This is 38-year-old Kovalev’s first fight since facing Canelo Alvarez in November 2019. Pulev, the 2012 Bronze Medalist at the Olympic Games, is the younger brother of two-time heavyweight world title challenger Kubrat ‘The Cobra’ Pulev (28-2, 14 KOs), who will clash with Andrey Fedosov (32-3, 26 KOs) over ten rounds in the co-feature.

Also featured on the undercard are junior middleweight Evan ‘Yung Holy’ Holyfield (9-0, 6 KOs) in a scheduled six-rounder, and junior middleweight Fernando ‘El Feroz’ Vargas Jr. (5-0, 5 KOs), featherweight Amado ‘El Malvado’ Vargas (3-0, 2 KOs) and pro-debuting lightweight Emiliano Vargas, who all compete in four-rounders. Evan is the son on Evander Holyfield, and the other three are sons of three-time junior middleweight world champion Fernando ‘El Feroz’ Vargas.

  • You know what… That isn’t a bad card. The two main fights probably don’t have much significance going forward, but they should be pretty good fights and I’m glad to see Fedosov get a shot after what he did in his last fight.

  • Pretty dangerous fight for a shot Kovalev in his cruiserweight bout.

    • Agreed. At 38 years of age, his risk of injury is climbing. In addition, I am sure he is seeking a paycheck and may even be self-deceived he “still has it” as an aging fighter. Kovalev had his moments when he was younger, no doubt. However, time catches all of us in age and our health should be one of the most important goals in life.

  • These former champs just breading next gen boxers. Have 8 kids, hope at least one of them has what it takes.

  • Kovalev should have stopped boxing a long time ago. Now he is fighting some unbeaten fighter at cruiserweight. Sadly can’t see this going well.

  • kovalev should quit canelo put him to sleep might need the money would not pay to see this
