Khmatov dominates Grigorian, Falcao wins

Unbeaten featherweight Otabek Khmatov (10-0, 9 KOs) came in the fight Saturday night with a bad knee, but completely shut down Andranik Grigorian (20-2, 10 KOs) by scoring a ten round unanimous decision win in a WBA 126lb title eliminator bout at the sold-out Caribre Royal Orlando Florida for the launching of Entrobox Bally’s Fight Night – BoxLab Promotions.

Khmatov went into the book of Winky Wright and just out-jabbed Grigorian on night long, working him with head and multiple body shots. Grigorian somehow just kept on walking into shots throughout the contest. Judges’ scores were 118-110, 119-109 (2x).

Super middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao (21-1, 9 KOs) from Espírito Santo, Brazil became the NABA Gold champion after scoring a ten round unanimous decision over a very tough customer in Damian Bonelli (24-11, 20 KOs) from Buenos, Aires, Argentina. Judges’ scorecards were 92-98, 93-97, 91-99.

Unbeaten super welterweight Anthony Velazquez (11-0, 10 KOs) in the opening bout broadcast on Bally’s Sports pressured Sergio Samuel Castellano (11-9, 7 KOs) right from the opening bell, Castellano didn’t have answers to Velazquez quickness finishing Castellano off at the official time 3:00 of round two by TKO victory.

Welterweight Jeovanny Estela (7-0, 2 KOs) from Orlando, Florida did everything you could to punch right through a difficult Roque A. Junco (10-10-1, 6 KOs), who was disqualified at 2:59 seconds of round five for consistent fouls throughout the fight.

Welterweight Juan Leon (6-0-1, 2 KOs) from Orlando, Florida stopped Phillip A. Ramer (0-1) from Cincinnati, OH. at 1:00 in the opening round by way of TKO victory.

Super welterweight Wayne Reid (1-1) from Fort Lauderdale, Florida went the distance by winning a four round unanimous decision victory over Earl Henry from Lakeland, Florida. The judges’ tallies were 40-26 across the board for Reid.

Highly talented young phenom 18-year-old Elijah Flores (2-0, 2 KOs) from Bronx, New York, wasted no time jumping right on Ashton Royal (0-3) with hard hooks to the head sending him down quickly at the official time 1:07 seconds of round two by TKO stoppage as referee Christopher Young waved off the contest soon as Royal hit the canvas from the hard shot taken by Flores.

Cruiserweight puncher Adrian Pinheiro (7-0, 7 KOs) from Orlando, Florida is not to be taken lightly as he showed good movement setting traps catching Jose Antonio Aubeu (14-11, 8 KO’s) ending his night at the 1:38 second mark of round two by way of TKO victory.

Local fan favorite Sean Mason (7-0, 5 KOs) from Altamonte Springs, Florida. Celebrates in the ring after dropping Omar Garcia from Nueva Leon, Mexico with violent shots to the body dropping Garcia to the canvas, He could not continue ending the contest at 1:12 seconds of round two by TKO victory for Mason.

Heavyweight Norman Neely (11-0, 8 KOs) from Paterson, New Jersey got into a firefight, scoring an eight round unanimous decision over a very tough Hector Perez (7-4, 3 KOs) from Tamarac, Florida. Neely was able to be very strategic in the contest took heavy shots from the game Perez who didn’t back down. Judges’ official scores after eight rounds 79-73, 78-74, 80-72.

  • I thought the main event was a little closer, but the right guy definitely got the decision. And the Falcao – Bonelli fight was just a mostly kind of sloppy, good time.
