Golden Boy Promotions announced Tuesday the signing of three prospects: lightweight Daillis Kaleiopu of Hawaii, bantamweight Asa Stevens also from Hawaii, and super welterweight Shane Mosley Jr.
Here is what Oscar De La Hoya had to say: “We are excited to be signing three great prospects. We have big plans to keep them busy on DAZN. These are 3 young men that are hardworking and talented. Our objective is to get them a world title.”
Shane Mosley Jr: “This is a big opportunity for me I’m glad to be signing with Golden Boy. Now I’m ready to get to next level.”
Dailis Kaleiopu: “I’m a boxer-puncher. I love to throw the jab , follow with the right and land the left hook to the body. My goal is to be world champion and put Hawaii in the map.”
Asa Stevens: “I’m happy to be signing with Golden Boy. I can’t wait to debut.”

Oh how times have changed. I recall “Sugar” Shane Mosley fighting Oscar and now Shane’s son signs on with Oscar as a promoter. Boxing is a business so I guess money talks when all things are placed aside.
Scoobs: Shane Mosley sr was a part of the original GBP team build-up. He and Barrera helped bring in fighters to the GBP stable before taking fights they werent supposed to and getting the boot from what i remember. The only one that stuck with him from the start and still with him is Hopkins. Bad move for Shane when u think about it. Now hes stuck training the youtuber Paul’s lmao.
Tony, you are spot on. Never thought of it that way….
Shane Sr. is a minority owner of Golden Boy. Why is Shane Jr. signing with them now?
Jonathan: interesting right… i ask myself that aswell. Especially since Mosley Jr is no standout and is almost 30. Hmmmm
Shane Mosley Jr has a good aggressive pressure style. Could make for good fights. It seems like he got a bad decision his last time out. Definitely dont have the suger.
