  • This just goes to prove that if you fight in Europe against the hometown champion you have a 100% chance of losing these days.. goes 12 you lose a decision, get hit with a hook up top it was illegal behind the head, get knocked down with a body shot it was low blow. The referees & judges are bribed by the promoters, the hometown fighter knows this and can put on acting performance when he gets clipped & hurt. I’ve seen it many times in Germany and Eastern Europe.

      • From what I saw on the replays the blow was fairly low and I am not playing sides but from the angle that was given could say it was a low blow .But it seems that Uske delivered some low blows as well just saying. Otherwise it was a fairly dominating performance by Usyk over a determine younger challenger in Dubois. Usyk is 36 years old and has lost a little step and fighting much bigger men than himself but still is a very tough out for any heavy weight.

    • LOL… American promoters, judges, and refs would ask you to hold their beer.

    • Usyk was pound for pound the best fighter in the world. He is getting older now and forced to fight bigger guys. Just a matter of time before he is knocked out. The truth is however, that he will go down in boxing history as far better than any of the other heavyweights today in terms of pound for pound ranking. If Tyson Fury were 6-3 and 220 lbs., he would be at about the same level as Hughie.

      • He’s not “forced to fight bigger guys.” He’s not doing anything different than Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano or Evander Holyfield who destroyed larger opponents. He’s a heavyweight in the HWY division. No excuses

        • None of the guys you mentioned, with the exception of Dempsey fighting an inept Willard, had to fight guys as huge both in height and weight as the huge guys today, Check Tyson`s fights, and you will see he always had problems with taller guys.

        • I say he is forced to fight bigger guys because there is not nearly as much money at Cruiserweight. Same thing as Holyfield. By the way, where were Tyson and Holyfield at the age Usyk is at now? They were washed up. Dempsey and Marciano were from a different time, when men were smaller.

    • Usyk has a serious Jab, stopped Dubois with a jab. was mentally and physically superior.

  • As most of you know, I am no fan of Candy Ass Anderson. However, I think Usyk is such a punk, I think Anderson can win this, IF the fight is held in the USA. Have the fight in the USA, and Usyk is going night night.

    • hell if lazy ass Andy Ruiz would stop playing he could KO Usyk and Anderson

      • Ruiz, who got lucky in his first fight with AJ, was completely outboxed by AJ in the return, How is he going to lay a glove on Usyx? He went the distance with his fat Arreolla, who by the way, was smoked by Stiverne not once but 2 times (and that was when Arreolla was young and fresh) also knocked out by a 1 hand Wilder. Anderson went a tough fight with a man was smoked by AJ in 2 rounds in AJ`s 16th fight. Anderson was hurt in that fight as well. Ruiz could not even stop the 40 year old Cuban, who was koed 2 times by Wilder.

    • Usyk is light years ahead of Anderson in the skill AND IQ department. The fight wouldn’t even be close.

  • even though i was pulling for Usyk that was a legal shot from Dubois rules state if the top of your trunks cover the belly button than its legal refs tell you this in the instructions and that shot was nowhere near illegal Dubois although a quitter was robbed of a KO victory

  • Time for Usyk/Fury now. Fury gets a big payday in October, and unless he’s badly faded and totally out of shape (which is possible, knowing Fury), wins his exhibition with little to no damage. Find the earliest date possible in the 2024 and get this fight signed. If Fury won’t make it, time to strip him for inactivity. Hrgovic is the first mandatory, followed by the Wilder/Joshua winner. It’s crazy to me that putting fights- especially with huge sums of money to be made by each guy- are so hard to put together.

    • Fury will not fight Usyx, he will find all type of lies and excuses not to do so, then he, Warren and the British fans will blame Usyx.

  • Watch it in slo-mo, he hit paydirt lower just before it connected to his belly. I am still puckered.

  • Mike Tyson is known for upper cat but not below the navel up to your kidniss and pankreas. If its true that usek has got a weak body why not hammer his liver from the side with normal body punches.

  • Watch it over a few times. It was low but not as low as I had it watching live. You cannot win with a low blow and you don’t have to squash the nuts for it to be a low blow. What is interesting, given the controversy, is that DuBois seemed to quit.

    • The other piece is that the ref instantly called it a low blow (and it was low). Had he not done so, who’s not to say Usyk shakes it off? If he felt pain from a shot deemed low, he’s well within the rules to take his time. Jeez, boxers hurt all the time from punches and fight on. This kind of reminds me of the “long count” when Tyson got beat by Douglas… it was much ado about nothing.

  • In the later fights from Tulsa I noticed the refs giving the fighters very specific instructions that any punch below the top of the shorts would be considered a low blow. That is any punch that hits the shorts, including the belt line, is a low blow. There is no question that Dubois hit Usyk on his shorts.

  • Hotel Dixie, correct, as simple as that yes, if the punch touches the belt line of the shorts that is a foul. And the slow motion is clear the punch was on the belt line and below the bellybutton anyhow.

  • Usyk should try him hand in Hollywood. That dude is a great actor. He got hit clean and milked it well. Hometown gift.

  • I thought it was a fair punch when i saw it live, but watching the replay it was just a bit low.

The real issue is that Dubois did not exclusively target the belly going forward.

He should have sold out going for body shots.

I do think Andy Ruiz and Jared Anderson would give Usyk hell in the ring tho with their speed.

  • I Hope Usyk can get Fury in the ring now. I definitely see Tyson making it as hard as possible and blathering on the whole time lying about how he’s doing everything possible make it happen. I use to like Fury but his tirades and ego have me hoping Usyk will KO him out and unify.

    • Usyk beats him, that i am certain about. Fury is the most overrated champion in history, and has got away with the most crap ever. Take away Wilder, and old Vlad, and you will see this guy has fought no other elite fighters. His “pub ranting” appeals to the Brits, even his lying.

  • Dubois was guilty of punching below the belt throughout the fight. I think it was a deliberate ploy. He said on the day of the fight, that he will win by any means. He is weak hearted, that low blow was actually his only success, he was being dominated the whole fight, i had him losing every round. The Ukrainian had him on the back foot for most of the match, which says a lot for a little guy.
