  • Canelo vs Bivol is the only thing here PPV worthy. All the rest should be part of standard showtime, DAZN, and ESPN subs.

    • All fights on DAZN should be under the subscription plan as it was sold to everyone that it would be a monthly subscription charge only never an added charge. Regardless of Canello or anyone else. Now they are saying there will be select ppv shows up to $100 and you must have a subscription as well. This is garbage hope everyone starts pirating these shows

    • Two are PBC cards. Spence v Ugas is PPV-worthy, in my (probably worthless) opinion because they are both belt holders in the same division, Spence is still a top five P4P attraction, and Ugas deserves a payday.

Canelo is Canelo. He is not fighting without PPV because the promoters would not be able to meet his purse demands without the additional revenue.

Tyson v. Whyte – Frank Warren paid a lot more than Matchroom in the purse bid and needs PPV sales so he doesn’t lose his shirt. Again, meeting Fury’s purse demand is why the fight is is not simply on ESPN or ESPN+.

PBC is going to continue to put Tank Davis on PPV so long as people continue to buy it. I am going to pass on this one.

  • I doubt anyone will spend close to 400 dollars in 3 months for these fights.

    • Good point. The way the price of gas and other items are climbing right now, I am sure some will wait for the replays, use a Firestick, or even watch a pirated stream of the fight(s).

      • “Get ready for April/May PPV frenzy”
        – Which I will be watching for free on my Amazon Fire Stick.

  • save your money the canelo fight might be good but the rest forget it save your money

  • Why does the public continue to buy these expensive PPV fights? Fight fans should boycott all PPV fights. Maybe that will end this personal greed on behalf of promoters and boxers.

  • Oddly, I only see myself ordering the Spence-Ugas fight as it’s not only a unification, but also interested to see how Spence looks as well as Ugas! As for Canelo-Bivol….I’ll wait until the highlights are posted!!

  • Boxing continues to be marketed by the clueless. Pay-per-View never attracts younger fans who can’t afford it and shrinks boxing’s fan base every year.

  • it is getting stupid now. My cable package has HBO and Showtime because they used to show a lot of boxing. Now every fight of any significance has an additional cost. The smaller channels charge about 35$ and act like they are your hero because it’s not 0ver 60$.
The sport is in a real state because I am a massive boxing fan who has always been fairly frivolous with PPV (at least since college), and even I have just started missing fights I would like to watch. I don’t even bother streaming. I just look up a fight and see some PPV cost on a network I have never even heard of, then decide to do something else.

    • – I have Comcast cable. Paying $225 / month for their triple play (I still have a land line).
      – Can’t wait to tell them to pound it, but wife still wants to keep them.
      – I should have married Comcast instead 🙁

      • Haha, yeah mine is a similar price. The silly thing is, you get a lot for that price, movies, other sports etc (I am English and US cable is awesome for soccer right now). But ultimately my original choice of maximum package was because it was only way to get HBO and showtime, which was good for boxing.

The broadcasters should communicate, because i bet there are people who are getting rid of their entire cable package because the boxing networks are taking the piss. That way the whole TV industry loses out

      • Gary can’t you get what your wife wants on the stick for free? Not sure what triple play is? What channels does she need?

        • – Wife does not like new tech.
          – I tell her that she can watch her stupid Lifetime and Hallmark channels on the Stick, but she wants no part of it.
          – Yet she complains that our bills are too high.

    • Don’t know what you mean by smaller channels charge $35? Are you talking about the B level ppv shows that can be purchased? Not a soccer fan but Fubo TV specializes in soccer for a decent price. If not Gary G would recommend a fire stick but I recommend a Monster box etc every uk channel every soccer match every fight including ppv for the cost of the box
