  • We saw maybe the best of Crawford but definitely not the best of Spence Jr. A rematch? No thanks. Move on quickly.

A super welterweight belt first before Crawford takes on old man Golovkin? Golovkin is a small middleweight. Golvkin didn’t look good against Brook. Crawford fended off Brook without much trouble. Todays Crawford beats todays Golovkin.

    And then?

Canelo. They are equally tall. Crawford has much better reach, better speed and has more boxingskills. Mayweather managed Canelo. I mean why not? Not an impossible scenario. At least not on paper.

Not the next fight against Canelo, but in the near future. Just thinking the thought says a lot about what you think about Crawford’s capacity.

    • Crawford will beat Canelo easier and worse than Bivol did. I have no doubt in my mind. The fight will never happen though. Canelo is going to end up fighting both Charlo sisters and then hopefully Benevidez. By then it’ll be 2025, maybe even 2045 with the way the Charlo sisters like to fight.

      • Why not have Crawford fight both Charlo sister-in-laws in the parking? The ladies (?) get to use their purses.

    • Crawford has more skills but canelo has more power

In boxing size means more than technique

What’s gonna happen to charlo that’s gona happen to Crawford

So you better keep Crawford in 147 lbs

    • Naaaaa chickenweather did not managed canelo

      Canelo should win that fight

But Floyd refused to fight he just neutralized the fight like always

      • What? Brother, Floyd smacked up Alvarez every which way but wrong. The art of boxing is to hit and not be hit. No, I am far from a fan of Mayweather, but I will give him props on the performance. Speaking of performance I think Floyd was on the steak regimen well before Canelo learned the tricks of the cheats.

        • He hates black fighters according to most of his posts. He said Crawford vs Spence would be boring because most black stink the place up. You’re wasting your time with him. We know an older Floyd smacked Canelo around but some folks operate on cognitive dissonance. You can show them the evidence and they refuse to change their mind.

    • Because Canelo is at 168 and will not come down a pound. There’s too much of a weight and hormonal discrepancy. When Floyd fought Alvarez, it was at 154 and Canelo had not started his steak regimen yet.

    • You are talking like if Crawford were on his twenties, he is turning 36 very soon and the most fights I see left on him are 4 (maybe 2 at 147 and 2 at 154) because of the rhythm top fighters fight nowadays (one or two fights a year). Stanionis, Ennis at 147 Spence and Tszyu at 154 my guess

      • I know how old Crawford is. That’s why I thought very freely about his possible fights he has left. It needs to go a little fast.

We all know Crawford’s capabilities and I think that’s why the minds are flying. Maybe he’ll settle for the weight class he’s in now and try to pick up the belts there? Or is he thinking that he wants to pick up belts in different weight classes? Then he must continue against the weight classes above him.

I think Tszyu would be more diffucult than GGG today.

As for Canelo. Yes he is in a completely different weight class now and has a completely different experience than when he faced Mayweather. Still, maybe that fight isn’t completely unrealistic. Basically, Canelo still has the same strengths and weaknesses as then.

Canelo had major problems with Mayweather’s speed, reach and boxing IQ. Crawford also has these important qualities.

      • I would like if Crawford followed the example of Andre Ward and finished his career on top, after 3 fights.

  • We beat 4 times to chickenweather

    1 Castillo 1
    2 de la hoya
    3 canelo
4 Martín castillo (amateur fight )

  • When does the public realiza that there are weight divisions for a reason? A Canelo fight? Wtf? Say that goes through and Bud wins, whats the next question at the conference? “Hey Bud, Fury wants a fight at heavyweight. Is it true that you’ll be moving up in weight?

    • Hey Peter, what you say is right, and I have noticed that is a normal and kind of sick trend followed by some when a boxer wins a great fight. When Naoya won against Fulton, some started to fantasize of him vs Gervonta Davis, now is Crawford vs Canelo, kind of silly IMO

  • NO! there won’t ever be a Crawford/Canelo match so having these discussions are bad for boxing. Besides, Bud has a good challenge up at 154 named Tim Tszyu. Tim won’t have an extra wide stance, shaky legs from the 1st bell, nor be 18 months inactive by fight time. Plus, he hits like a mule kicks and has a strong jab and straight right hand. It’s an interesting fight for Bud, who would be the favorite, but one that can be made. Canelo can’t even make 160lbs much the 157lbs that the Crawford team has floated.

  • Golovkin vs Crawford is the fight. If Bud doesn’t want Ennis, Ortiz, Thurman (2 fights in 4 years?), Rocha (#1 WBO),
Golovkin would even make 157 or 158 to lure for a Bud fight to be made, (maybe Golovkin doesn’t want a fight like this anymore like when he fought Kell Brook). 41 year old GGG vs 36 year old Bud couldn’t be marketed like 2 fighters in their primes though.
If Charlo shocks the world vs Canelo (some slim chance) he’d be a top 5 pound for pound guy. That would be a major upset.

    • I definitely think Crawford vs GGG is a possibility. But is it a fight boxing fans are asking for? I’m confident that that fight is risk-free for Crawford. GGG and his team probably realize that too. If GGG is guaranteed a big purse then maybe. Can that fight be sold? Perhaps? But then it has to happen soon.

  • Wonder how Spence and Bud would have fared against Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard or Marvin Hagler? Hypothetical question. I was in attendance at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, when Hearns demolished Pipino Cuevas for the WBA welterweight title. It was awesome to say the least.

  • A year or so I stated Crawford should fight GGG and received all negative comments. Now, many are comparing Crawford to Sugar Ray Robinson, who fought Fullmer (160), Turpin, Maxim (175) . Bud has the tools to reach the goal, but the “will” is suspect. Duran stepped up and fought Hagler , Herns and Barkley . Greg beat Tunney (175) only man to achieve that feat. Have to give Canelo the credits has he answered the bell like the men in the “ Golden Era”.

    • Only eight weight divisions then-much less discussion of moving up in weight classes.

  • I still remember people saying Gamboa was going to expose and destroy Crawford almost 10 years ago……and here we are.

His composure and mental toughness is eerie. People say Spence was shot before the fight? I say Crawford just exposed all his weaknesses, especially how robotic Spence is. I hope Spence moves to 154 and can recover from this because he is a very good fighter, just not everything a lot of people made him out to be.
