Cintron shuts out Melendez in San Juan

Unbeaten super flyweight Jeyvier Cintrón (8-0, 4 KOs) won by unanimous ten round decision over Francisco Alonso Meléndez (15-3, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Judges voted 100-90, 100-90 and 100-90 for Cintrón over Meléndez, who bled profusely from his nose from round one. The WBO Latino title was on the line.

Jr Lightweight Luis Lebrón (13-0-1, 6 KOs) beat Darryl Hayes (6-12, 1 KOs) by TKO at :01 of the ninth round. The doctor stopped the bout due to a battered Hayes.

Jr Lightweight Henry Lebrón (6-0, 4 KOs) won by six round unanimous decision over Luis Gerardo Ávila(6-12-3, 4 KOs) by scores of 60-54 across the board.

In the surprise of the night, featherweight Elliot De Jesus (2-2) beat Luis Melendez (2-1, 2 KOs) by split decision. Two judges voted 39-37 for De Jesus and the other had it 39-37 for Melendez.
