Browne stops Lamptey

Former world championship challenger Tommy Browne (39-7-2, 16 KOs) stopped Ebenezer Lantei Lamptey (29-4, 22 KOs) of Ghana at the K Ranch Arena, Mt Hunter, NSW, Australia on Sunday. Browne controlled rounds one and two as he connected with accurate combinations and referee Justin Kennedy crowned the Australian light middleweight at 1:39. Browne challenged In Jin Chi for the WBC featherweight crown and Chris John for the WBA featherweight crown in 2005. Former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine stopped Browne in two rounds in March. Lamptey previously visited Australia in 2013 losing to Chad Bennett in five rounds. Promoter was Paul Druce.
