WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (26-0, 24 KOs) will reportedly fight Rolly Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) on PPV on May 28. The fight was ordered by the WBA. Davis and Romero were originally slated to fight last December, but Romero pulled out due to a sexual assault allegation from which he was later vindicated.

Probellum has signed reigning female light heavyweight and heavyweight world champion Hanna Gabriels (21-2-1, 12 KOs), super welterweight Charles Conwell (16-0, 12 KOs), and super featherweight Alex Dilmaghani (19-2-1, 8 K0s). Gabriels and Conwell are co-promotional pacts with DiBella Entertainment.

The March 19 fight between Hafthor Bjornsson and Eddie Hall at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium is being billed as the heaviest boxing match in history. Both are previous winners of the “World’s Strongest Man” competition and weigh well over 300 pounds.

After the controversial Taylor-Catterall verdict, promoter Frank Warren has confirmed to IFL that there will be no British judges for the Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte fight in London on April 23.

  • Well, now we gonna have a chance to see what Romero is made of. Talk is easy and satisfying, be in the ring with Tank Davis as an opponent, is a complete different matter.

  • For the fight of two World’s Strongest Man”, Benjy
Esteves Jr. is going to be the third man in the ring. Best of luck!

    • For the record, Hafthor competed at about 450 lbs and Eddie at just above 400. I know both have trimmed down a lot since their weightlifting days, but if this doesn’t end early, expect two winded ass dudes after a couple rounds.

  • Out of the seemingly dozens and dozens of fighters that they’ve signed, I think Probellum’s best investment might be Conwell. I think that guy is going to be an excellent fighter and a star in a few years.

    • Charles Conwell is like boxing’s best kept secret. Can’t believe he hasn’t been able to get fights, but hopefully Probellum can change that.

  • Another PPV SCREW from the biggest bag in the business. MR. Soul Glow himself, Alfred Haymon. Thanks again!

    • First ESPN+ and now DAZN after promising up and down that they were subscription only services and would never ever charge for a ppv going back on their promises we have PBC going to Showtime for the lesser known fighters and all ppv for everyone else. Surprised they have Charlo rematch on Showtime and not ppv.

      • Who’s the boxing writer who said paying for PPP is like paying for a hooker because you get screwed both ways?

          • Gary I knew Pedro a really arrogant guy. Is Ring Talk still around? I also remember a philly writer Bernard Fernandez remember him?

          • Johnny:
            – I do remember Bernard Fernandez (Phila Daily News).
            – Never met Pedro, but I really enjoyed his site. I remember him trying to correct a wrong against Yory Boy Campus and trying to involve Senator John McCain. Is Pedro still around (alive)? His sites do not exist anymore.
            – Take care.

          • Gary hes still alive and Ring Talk also was a weekly radio deal not just internet article maybe still a podcast but don’t hear much about it. Marley passed a few days ago.

        • Add other possibilities:
          – Phil Berger (NY Times)
          – Wally Matthews (Newsday)
          – Mike Katz (NY Dailey News)
          – Mike Marley (NY Post)

  • If BIG fights on PPV were no more than, 29.99 they’d get bigger numbers. But with greed comes higher PPV events for decent fights.
I have not paid for PPV since the Mayweather/Pacquiao and do not intend to ever pay more than. 29.99 for ANY fight.

    • Bigger numbers but probably not enough to make up the revenue generated at the higher prices. They have probably figured what price would bring in the most dollars.

  • I think lost his last fight. He won’t survive Ryan Garcia. Always thought he might. Not now after his lackluster fight. Garcia will KO him within 6 rounds.

    • Superhype aint knocking out Tank Davis if thats what your implying lol his chin will betray him in the big fights why dont you think hes been fighting??? hell Cambpell gave him brain trauma giving him anxiety attacks he will be crushed by Tank and will retire and we can all be better off without another unproven fighter tooting their own im the greatest horn before they prove it tired of this WWE crap boxing has become bunch of hyped up puppets

  • Where does it end guys? I mean, think about this… I have no problem paying for fights every couple months or so. But, now? Every DAMN fight, that is decent, is strictly PPV. Tank, Spence, Crawford, Thurman, Charlo’s, Canelo..Nuff Already…Not to mention, a good UFC fight once or Twice a year. Showtime is the big disappointment to me. They could of took over when HBO bailed on us..No network TV. Other then regular espn or fox sports, which are mediocre at best, is all we get for “FREE”. Thank goodness for DAZN. Canelo/Bivol, aside , it has given me plenty of bang for the buck. I feel that MR. AL..SAM..And Team Money are really screwing us. They just don’t get it. Guys will end up losing before they have a chance to really make that money..
    All Told

    • Unless I’m missing something I see nothing on the Fox or Fox sports networks scheduled at all

  • I wouldn’t pay any euro to watch Hall fight Bjornsson. I’d rather watch two sissies fight lol
