  • Spong was probably one of the best lightheavy/heavyweight kickboxers I’ve ever seen. As a boxer, it’s time to make a move and this definitely qualifies. He was in the running for an Usyk fight a few years ago when Usyk came up, but I think he tested positive for something.

    • Lucie just a follow up on Mando Ramos…Lupe Sanchez and Gil Clancy both told me that if it wasn’t for the booze and drugs that Mando Ramos would have been the greatest 135 pounder of all time. Better than Chavez or Duran. I just never thought so watching the old films but what do I know

  • Talk about taking a MASSIVE step backwards in your career. Triller is a circus show!!!

  • ?????, Where is the logic in this, unless he’s just gettin the bag now. Way bigger names out there, hell even if he fought for the Fake WBA belt it would be WAY better than this?

  • If Andy cannot win this fight, he needs to leave the sport.

    1 Hit Wonder.
    1 Win Andy.

  • Great kickboxer and always in shape with above average speed. Andy’s gonna have to be super ready for this one. As of now I got Spong with the win.

  • Who are we kidding here? This is not a competitive fight. I’m surprised Sprong is undefeated. I saw him fight on an undercard a few years ago and was highly unimpressed. I understand he was a good kickboxer, but that doesn’t translate to being a good boxer. But hey, what do I know? Maybe he’ll KO Ruiz and we’ll have another player in the division. In fact, I hope he does. I love it when fighters crawl out of nowhere and rock the apple cart, as Ruiz did Joshua

  • Another BS PPV. Im really surprised Alfred Haymon isn’t involved. This is straight trash. Stupid move by Little Andy..

    • Is it bad move, though? He’s a mediocre fighter who hit the lottery with Joshua. In his last fight, his people had to drag Cris Arreola out of retirement and he damn near lost.

He knows he can’t beat legit contenders, so he needs to become a traveling circus show. I mean, seriously, Hrgovic, Joyce, Dubois, etc would clobber him and ruin whatever financial opportunities he has forever. Honestly, I’m shocked he didn’t try to jump in for the WBA paper belt against Trevor Bryan, it would have suited him and may have been a fight he could actually win.

  • I think its possible that ruiz doesnt really want to fight. And he is still lazy

  • Keep busy fight with somewhat minimal risk. Ruiz should aim higher. He is really at the back of the line now after his unimpressive showing in the Joshua rematch. The Usyk/Fury dance cards are full right now maybe nobody in the rankings want to fight each other in case they get a call for a title shot.

  • Wonderful business model that should bankrupt companies, keep athletic achievements in the shadows and promote broadcast theft. Bravo.

    • Where at in this article (or in the comments section) do you see / read “keep athletic achievements in the shadows and promote broadcast theft.”????

  • Probably hard for Ruiz to get fights. Risky to fight him because he can knock you out, but beating him does not necessarily propel the winning fighter into a big money fight.

  • how to destroy a career everybody roots for you to be successful at….refuse to get in shape….hey Ruiz could be fighting at 175 if he weren’t a fat fuck. He has never been in shape. Ever. Look at pics when he was young. fat. That was always the rub…wow look a fat guy can fight some. The dinosaur in the room is “gee what could he do if in SHAPE?”….maybe not said because hey he is so likeable, ya don’t tell yer nice friend he is a fat fuck. You tell yer enemies that. So Andy fights who on PPV? What is Hasim Rahman not available? Maybe fight Shannon Briggs? You idiot. Like you , you dumbass. fat dumbass.

    • Not saying Ruiz Jr could not easily lose 25 pounds with less beer and carbs but respect for a man who made it to the top without juicing. Hollyfield was a great champ but was massive hgh and t dosser who did it in cycles to manage levels throught his career.

  • “Andy Ruiz vs. Tyrone Spong on PPV July 16..”
    – No thanx…..

  • So Ruiz ducks Chisora and Whyte to fight this nobody.
    Typical Al Haymon fighter.

  • So chub chub is fighting on triller now, should make it a proper circus act and have a hotdog eating contest before the fight

  • Why he isn’t fighting a real boxer in the top 10. I don’t get it.
