  • Finally, we can move on to cover another upcoming fight instead of dwelling on the past lack-luster fight between the inflated Canelo and cherry-picked Kovalev. Nothing like building wins with a careful cherry-pickin’ promotor named Oscar.

All jokes aside, props to Wilder for selecting a rematch against Ortiz. Why? Ortiz may be older now, but he is still dangerous and did have a puncher’s chance against Wilder. I am not convinced the second fight will have all the fireworks like the first match, but this will be interesting to watch. Oritz has nothing to lose and I am sure will hang it out all on-the- line to chop down the tall-dangerous-heavy puncher. Based off Ortiz’s recent weight reduction, I bet he is looking to box his way to rack up points against Wilder using a boost of speed in his southpaw stance. Wilder will be looking to land that big right cross to set up the downfall of the Cuban fighter.

    • I’m not the biggest Canelo fan but all the criticism of his opponents is unfair. A man who started his career at 147 just moved up to 175 and Kayoed a still viable opponent in Kovalev. He just beat A dangerous Danny Jacobs and of course his 2 recent wars with Golovkin. He stays active so I don’t think it’s fair to expect him to fight the most dangerous opposition every time out.

    • Can’t resist talking about the best man in boxing even when he has nothing to do with this fight. Goes to show how he’s the biggest draw currently. The bigger you get the more critics you get. But aside from that. I think this will be a great heavyweight fight. Too rich for my blood. I’ll have to pocket the 75 bones.

    • He can try to box his way instead of pressure fighting, but Tyson Fury tried that too, and Fury still ended up unconscious for 10 seconds – LOL

  • We can debate Wilder’s talent or lack therof but the thing I like about him is that he gives 100% in every fight and never gives up when he is behind.

    • That’s right John. Wilder’s heart compensates his undeniable flaws, and his punching power is the equalizer in adverse situations. Ortiz is just a good opponent now, who still dangerous, but way past his primes. Wilder should decimate him earlier this time

  • Wilder is a beast and when he connects its game over for anyone..
He has the 2 things you cant train, you either have them or you dont.
    Power and heart.

  • The best part about these two upcoming heavyweight Super fights between, Wilder Vs Ortiz II and Ruis vs Joshua II is that there will be a clear winner in both fights. No controversy, no drama, no fixed fights like Canelo and Golden Boy Promotions who bribe judges.

    • Ya, OK, if you think there are no bribes in these fights, I have some Ocean Front Property in Arizona I would like to sell you.

    • Canelo knocked the champ at 175 out! If Kov is so washed up how the heck was he the freaking champ??!! Canelo knocked his butt fair and square and that’s that! GO WILD WILDER!!!

  • I feel like this fight is being hyped to be something it’s not. Wilder should and likely will bury Ortiz by the middle rounds. I’m not aboard the Wilder bandwagon, I just don’t see Ortiz as proper competition. This sort of reminds me of when Sam Peter fought pretty well against Wlad and got a rematch, only to get embarrassed and soundly KO’d.

    • If ortiz is not proper who is??!! Roidy Whyte? Ruiz and Aj are taken, Fury is slated for February if he has the balls to take the fight, who? Parker wants none and ducked him shamelessly years ago
