Coming off his first pro loss, former jr welterweight world champion ”Mighty Mo” Maurice Hooker (27-1-3, 18 KOs), fighting at a 144lb catchweight, scored a first round KO over late sub Uriel Perez (19-5, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, Arizona. Hooker battered Perez to the canvas at 2:52.
Former world champion Liam “Beefy” Smith (29-2-1, 16 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Roberto “Amenaza” Garcia (42-5, 25 KOs) in a middleweight bout. Smith was effective with body shots en route to a 99-91, 99-91, 98-92.
Unbeaten featherweight Raymond Ford (5-0, 2 KOs) scored a first round KO over Francisco Muro (3-7, 0 KOs). Muro down twice. Time was 1:41.
Unbeaten welterweight Reshat Mati (6-0, 4 KOs) scored a first round KO over Rakim Johnson (6-9-1, 5 KOs). Matings dropped Johnson four times. Time was 2:05.
Unbeaten welterweight Josh Kelly (10-0-1, 6 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Winston Campos (31-7-6, 19 KOs). Scores were 99-90, 99-90, 98-91. Kelly dropped Campos in round ten, but Campos survived until the end.
Unbeaten Olympic Gold medalist Daniyar Yeleussinov (9-0, 5 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Alan Sanchez (20-5-1, 10 KOs).
Did anyone else see the Crawford interview between fights? Not interested in Porter fight was his answer and Spence still not seen since his accident.
Bud shouldn’t have to fight the loser of the fight but he may have no choice. Who knows Spences status. I’d rather see him against Garcia but they won’t make that fight
