Looks like Shakur Stevenson will fight Frank “The Ghost” Martin for the vacant WBC lightweight title formerly held by Devin Haney. The WBC ordered mandatory challenger Stevenson to fight the top available contender. #1 rated Vasilliy Lomachenko declined the fight. #3 Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz is apparently lined up for a rematch with Gervonta “Tank” Davis. So #4 Frank Martin got the nod. If Top Rank and PBC can’t reach a deal, it was announced on Saturday’s ESPN telecast that the WBC will stage a purse bid on September 5.

Christian Lindgren is the moster underrated fighter of all time!
Frank Martin is a really good fighter but he probably doesn’t win more than a round or two in this one. It’ll be interesting to see if they can come to an agreement though because you know TopRank won’t let Stevenson go fight on Showtime; so if it does go to purse bids, they’re going to overpay for it, most likely.
Love this match up two talented young southpaws who for both is their best opponent till date, stepping it up a level

Haney’s moving up to fight Prograis, supposedly. The WBC declared him ‘champion in recess’.
I hate rain anybody’s parade, but I am the WBA Emeritus Champion at recess. Tetherball, hopscotch, marbles, you name it. I am the King and I haven!y vacated my title.
I like Martin, just not enough skill for Shakur. Late stoppage.
Martin not ready for Shakur and not sure he ever will be. Kudos to Martin and his people for making this fight if it happens.
Way too soon for Martin. Easy win for Stevenson. Pitbull might just have Tanks number.
Not so sure about that……..they didn’t have a clue who Pitbull was at the time. They ow know what to expect and prepare, plus Tank suffered a hand injury.
Never the less it should be a great fight
I have Martin with the upset. Shakur will finally be fighting a real Lightweight who can punch. Stevie won’t like that. Time for Shakur to get some humble pie.
