Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. said he was focused on scoring a knockout against Yordenis Ugas during a public media workout on Wednesday as Spence-Ugas fight week events officially kicked off for their unification showdown this Saturday on Showtime PPV from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Errol Spence Jr: It’s eat or get ate. That’s all it is on Saturday night. Eat or get ate. Of course, I’m going to win. But I’m going for the knockout. There’s nothing to elaborate on when I said I’m going for the knockout. It’s what I said. So if I get it, I get it. If I don’t, I don’t. I know one hundred percent I’m getting the victory, but I definitely want to knock him out.
Yordenis Ugas: Spence can say whatever he wants. I’ll fight the way I always do, exchanging blows and coming forward. I’m a competitor, I’m a warrior and I came to fight 12 rounds strong. That’s the most important thing of all. That alone should make Spence uneasy. I know I’m the underdog. I came here to win. I will fight whenever, wherever, in anybody’s backyard.
close fight but plenty of backers are looking at spence could almost be a draw maybe worth a small bet on that
Spence does not have the tools to beat Ugas. The only way Ugas will lose if they cheat him on the score cards
You got proven very wrong!
Spences eye looks droopy like that superstar that never made it because of his eye issues. If I were Ugas I would throw every punch at that eye. And elbows , his head etc. That eye is going to be Errols downfall eventually. Either from a punch he doesn’t see coming because of it…or it being the reason the fight is called. Maybe not Saturday but someday.Nuff said.
David Reid is who you were thinking of.
What lane logic bruh! You clearly put no thought into what you commented on?! SMH…..
You really suggesting that Ugas resort to dirty tactics at Spence’s eyes for a victory in a bout!? I know you don’t want Spence to win , but to wish ill on him is messed up. Throwing elbows or using head towards Spence previously injured eye!? Man! Us humans have to do better! I trust Ugas have the skills to give Spence fits without dirty tactics.
“Nuff said” lmao. If you were Ugas you would fight exactly how you trained and what your corner told you to do. Not sure how you concentrate on fouling when Spence keeps a high punch output, no matter what his opponent is doing.
on another note..bet the house on Bivol. He is twice the fighter Plant or whoever he has been busting up. My prediction is Bivol wins every round. There will be a huge boxing excuse made ..war distraction, pebble in shoe…something that will give Canola an excuse. I am stunned anyone thinks Canola has a chance. Bivol won’t be on the ropes hooking with him. ah la Plant. BTW what is a trustable betting site?
What you would say if Saul Alvarez defeats Bivol handly, with no controversy?
wrong thread! Im sure this wasn’t that pressing.
You may be living in a cardboard box if you really bet the house on this fight.
Crawford beat both of the by Decision
Spence, Jr. (Spence) loves punching to the body. I do not recall Ugas dealing with steady body shots, especially during rounds 7-12. Under Spence’s barrage of body punching, Ugas’ conditioning and work rate will play huge factors in the 2nd half of the fight. However, I am not sure if Ugas will have sufficient stamina and work rate to keep Spence off him for 12 rounds.
Glad I have a little time to make a final decision because Ugas has a long, rangy punching style that gives opponents fits. Ugas will need a sharp, steady jab as well. I hope Ugas is working on his inside game and uppercuts because Spence will bring the heat during rounds 7-12. Maybe Ugas’ style will keep Spence at bay, but Ugas will need to display a perfect performance (rounds 1-12).
Ugas is possibly looking at too many uphill battles.
Spence by brutal k.o. of the year in the 7th! And the new unified champion…… and so on and so on!
