Spence responds to Ugas trainer

Unified WBC and IBF welterweight world champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr., declared that he is “on point” ahead of his 147-pound title unification clash against WBA welterweight world champion Yordenis Ugas taking place Saturday, April 16 live on SHOWTIME PPV from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Responding to a statement made Wednesday by Ugas’ trainer Ismael Salas that he was a “different” fighter in his first fight back after a 2019 car accident, Spence stated, “Even half of me would beat most of these guys at the top level. I feel great now and I’m 100%. Physically I’m on point and everything feels real regular. If Ugas’ trainer thinks I’m a different fighter now, we’ll see in two and half weeks how different I am.”

  • Wouldn’t be surprised to see the upset here. Spence’s career has really tapered off and he could become yesterday’s news real quick in a stacked division with plenty of hungry young lions. Ugas is very crafty and as a 4-1 dog he definitely is worth a bet.

    • Agreed I’m looking for a huge upset
A lots of loud mouths are thinking that Spence is going to run over ugas there in for a big surprise I hope and really wish that I’m wrong on this one

  • I feel Spence’s speed coupled with lateral movement will present problems for Ugas. Spence does a very good job at countering especially when fighters tend to be more stationary. Ugas gets in a habit he will stand stationary as the fight progresses in the later rounds. I feel Spence will pick him apart early and hone in on target practice in the later rounds. Spence UD.

    • Zoinks! I am with you Scoob , Speed and ring generalship will help Spence become the victor!

    • I couldn’t agree more. I also think Spence’s punch and strength alone gives him an insurmountable edge. Ugas only wins this if Spence falls apart all of the sudden.
      However, Crawford decisively beats Spence.

  • Spence fights at half speed. Until he doesn’t..Watch him finish Brooke when he was ready. Truth.

  • Ugas, no mas after 6 or brutal k.o. of the year! Paquiao was worn out, did not really had much in his tank …….spence is a different kind of monster.

  • When Spence takes care of Ugas easily. I want a written apology from all of you.
