Saunders reportedly inks with Matchroom

WBO super middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders, who recently parted ways with longtime promoter Frank Warren, has reportedly signed with Matchroom Boxing. Promoter Eddie Hearn had already announced he’ll reveal a major new signing at a press conference in London on Tuesday morning. The move was made to set up a potential unification fight between Saunders and WBA champion Callum Smith.

  • A good move from Saunders, as long is complemented with more activity and discipline, away from troubles. Him vs. Callum Smith is a great matchup, also against Canelo or Jacob. Matchroom is growing, and seems to have the ability to deal with almost everyone, which is what it’s needed in boxing nowadays. Hope to see the Charlo brothers make the jump too.

    • Agreed Hearn seems easy to work with. Devin Haney has signed byt also has his own promotional company. And some fighters are on a fight by fight basis.

  • This guy is the most BORING ass fighter I’ve ever seen! Totally pathetic style! his son is a little piece of crap as well! I remember when the little lady boy punched Willie Monroe right in the nuts during the weigh in and the scum bag father thought is was cute. Revoke this guys license until he fights like a real man just a pathetic fighter with no balls.
