Promoter Hideyuki Ohashi, however, has quickly announced WBO#11 Korean Ye-Joon Kim (21-2-2, 13 KOs) will be an urgent substitute for Goodman who needed a surgery of four stitches. The show will take place as planned at Ariake Arena in Tokyo on January 24. The substitute Kim’s nickname is “Troublemaker,” but Kim may give his name to Goodman.

    • Sorry. Couldn’t resist. I’m sure his injury is legit. I wish Monster would move up one or two more weight classes. Everything in due time.

        • tank as fought as a Journey Welterweight before. Personally, I would like to see Inoe fight Naktani. that for me would be a big fight.

      • Monster has already moved up 3 or 4 weight classes and has won belts in all of them…how many classes to expect him to to move up to? Nobody else in boxing is doing what he’s doing

  • Whether the injury is real or not, he never had a chance. Now by staying on the sidelines for 6 months he’ll get to avoid Inoue who is supposed to fight in the USA next and Saudi after.

  • However Nakatani should be moving up soon and he (Goodman) may have to rekon with him. Without at least some punching power, his days are numbered.

  • Gosh people the re injuring his eye is legit . Some of the keyboard warriors on this sight …..leaves me speechless at times.

    • I agree Gary what you are saying Goodman eye injury is legit by reports he was training hard Sam not scared at all to fight Monster Inoue hopefully when his eye is healed he get another opportunity for a world title shot.About the keyboard warriors leave me speechless too it good to have a opinion but don’t personally put down a fighter who has legit injuries or mental health issues etc

    • It was a joke, Gary. You can’t detect the sarcasm? Keyboard warrior? Really? Uhhh, okay….. 🙁

  • He fights the rest of his career be won’t earn in the next 15 fights what he would get for this one fight with the monster – anyone that thinks he’s afraid or faked an injury really have absolutely no idea about the sport – none whatsoever.

    • Gawd. Recognize sarcasm when you hear it.
I applaud anyone willing to risk life and limb
      going against Inoue.

  • 19-0 (8 KOs). Obviously, if Goodman had a chance it was over 12 rounds. Can’t have a cut reopen in round 2 or 3 and think he’d last 12.
Only a puncher has a chance vs Inoue, but then again, Munguia was KO’d by a non puncher Frenchman.
It will have to be an undefeated guy with some experience, or a puncher, to defeat Inoue.
Inoue is almost 33, old for a boxer, especially in lower weights.

    – “Calamity”????
    – Sounds like they want him hog-tied and facing the firing squad…………….

    • Is he? He missed weight last time when he had 6 months to train. You think he’s ready on two weeks notice? He’s probably more ready for Crawford than Inoue, the lazy sob.

  • I think Inoue would win this fight by KO……. He is that good with massive power but would he defer this fight if he had a bad eye cut ????….. well of course he would !!!!!
