German prospect Timo Rost scored a solid 8-round unanimous decision over sturdy but limited opponent Davit Makaradze (20-14-1,11 KO) of Georgia on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. Rost improved to 10-0-2 (3 KO) and had a restricted, pandemic-sized crowd of around 300 socially-distanced fans screaming for him, but the potential contender still has a considerable ways to go before he’s ready for top-notch opposition.

In a featured preliminary, visiting Patrick Mendy of the UK (18-17-3, 1 KO) lost a highly questionable, 8-round majority decision to Alexander Rigas (10-0, 5 KO) of Munich, who seemed extremely lucky to keep his undefeated record. A quick poll of observers afterward indicated Mendy deserved at least a draw, and probably the win, even including a very debatable point deduction.

Verena Kaiser (14-1, 6 KO) broke down a very game Karina Kopinska (13-36-4, 3 KO) who was forced to retire after three brutal rounds. Kaiser displayed the best footwork of the night.
