There have been rumors of Oscar De La Hoya running for President of the United States. The fight week media has been buzzing about it after a few members of his team began posting the hashtag “#DeLaHoya2020” on social media. Fightnews.com® had the opportunity to talk to Oscar about it.

“Of course, it’s true. Anything is possible. I am a fighter and I like to fight for the people. Look if Schwarzenegger was able to be Governor of California and now Donald Trump President of the United States, listen this is the land of opportunity. I am here for the people and I would do anything to help the people do better. I am a dreamer.”

Regarding the support he’s been given by former president of Mexico Vicente Fox, Oscar said, “It’s an honor, I would like to thank President Fox for the support. It’s coming from someone that was president of Mexico. He is respected and loved in Mexico and his endorsement is great for me. It’s motivating. Anything is possible,” concluded De La Hoya.
