Nicklow Has Rematch In Glen Burnie, MD

By Gary “Digital” Williams

Baltimore, MD-area fan favorite Jessie “The Beast” Nicklow returns to action in the main event of the next Baltimore Pro Boxing promotions card at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD on Thursday, July 13th.

Actually, the main event for the card has a familiar ring to it as Nicklow will participate in an eight-round rematch against Chauncey “Grimm” Fields of Lynchburg, VA. The two men faced each other on January 13th at Michael’s with Nicklow winning an eight-round unanimous decision. Nicklow (26-8-3, eight KO’s) has not fought since the last meeting with Fields but he is undefeated in local-area competition (25-0-3). However, Fields (4-3, two KO’s) has fought twice, losing by knockout to Gary O’ Sullivan and Gabriel Pham.

The co-feature has Baltimore middleweight “Dangerous” Donald Wallace taking on the returning “Uzbek Warrior” Zarifbek Nishanbaev of Arlington, VA by way of Kyrgyzstan in a four-round bout. Wallace (2-0-1, one KO) will try to elevate from his six-round draw with Gregory Clark on the last Michael’s card on May 12th. Nishanbaev (2-1, one KO) has not fought since losing a four-round split decision to Vance Nwakpuda in July of 2015 at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore.

Undefeated Glenarden, MD junior welterweight Drayvontay Speed Rawls will battle Dion Richardson of Newark, NJ in a six-round bout. Speed Rawls (8-0-1, six KO’s) comes off a third-round stoppage of Rynell Griffin on March 25th in Washington, DC. Richardson (2-1, two KO’s) bounced back from suffering his first pro loss by scoring a first-round TKO over previously undefeated Scott Kelleher on June 2 in Philadelphia, PA.

Also on the card, Baltimore super welterweight Ernest “Lightning Bug” Hall will take on DC’s Tyrone Wright in a four-round contest. Hall (2-0, one KO) last fought on the March 30th card at Michael’s and won a four-round unanimous decision over Lamont White. Wright (2-2) has not competed since January of 2015 when he was knocked out by Thomas Mattice in the first round in DC.

There will also be three amateur bouts on the card.
