IBF junior welterweight champion Subriel Matías (20-1 20 KOs) makes a homecoming return to Puerto Rico when he defends his world title against unbeaten Liam Paro (24-0, 15 KOs) at the Coliseo Juan Aubín Cruz Abreu in Manatí on Saturday June 15, live worldwide on DAZN.
Subriel Matías: “I am super excited to be able to be in front of my people defending the title that we had such a hard time getting. The mentality will always be the same and in front of my people I don’t even have to say it, they know me. The Pride of Maternillo.”
Liam Paro: “I’ve waited my whole life for this opportunity. Fighter’s fight and I can’t wait to fight the boogeyman in his backyard.”
June 15 represents Matchroom’s first event in Puerto Rico, and it’s the first fight with Matías after he signed a co-promotional deal with Matchroom and Fresh Productions.
Looks like a good match-up……
Liam looked superb against guys like Montana Love & Brock Jarvis. Against Matias, Liam Paro is going to get smashed. End of story.
Tremendous fight. I see it as a 50:50.
Matias will return home for a late TKO victory, and his fellow Puerto Rican (PR) folks will ROARRRRRR!!!.
I am always looking forward to Matias’ fights.
Cannot go wrong with his fights. He brings the business, but if someone technical comes, can he adjust? Again, another fun to watch.
This co-promotional deal could start bad, because Paro has the tools to upset Matias, who in his only loss was in the verge of being kayoed. Great fight all around nonetheless where fans will be served with plenty of action

Great fight 50/50 but I will rely on paro speed stamina and heart
Paro by split decision
There will be no decision but KO in this fight, and before 10
I your opinion ‘there will be no decision’.
Unfortunately I see another controversial hometown decision coming
Go Liam Paro do yourself proud and Australia hopefully you be world champion.
