Martz clobbers Carmack

Former NABF Heavyweight champ, 6’8, 251 pound Daniel “The Mountain” Martz (17-6, 14KOs) destroyed Richard Carmack (15-14, 12KOs) on Sunday at The Mountaineer Casino & Resort in Chester, West Virginia. Martz used his superior reach to keep Carmack on the outside eating jabs throughout the first stanza. In the second round, Martz used effective combinations and body shots to put Carmack down for the count. Once Carmack arose, Martz dropped his opponent with a brutal left hook to the body finishing Carmack for good at 2:59 of the second round earning the KO victory in the scheduled 8 round regional title.

In the co-feature, junior middleweight journeyman Rick Graham (6-20, 2KOs) upset local Justin Steave (9-2, 4KOs) over 6 rounds. Scores were 57-56 (twice) for Graham and 59-54 (Steave). Also, undefeated lightweight Brandun Lee (11-0, 9Kos) destroyed journeyman Jorge Luis Munguia (13-14, 5KOs) at 56 seconds into the first of the scheduled 6 rounder. Moreover, Rosalindo Morales (2-0) won a 4 round majority decision over Latorie Woodberry (2-7-2) at super lightweight. Scores were 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38. In addition, Kiante Irving (1-0) stopped Vince Berkhaulter (0-8) at 1:57 of the first stanza.

In other action, welterweight Tre’Sean Wiggins (10-3, 6KOs) won a workmanlike unanimous decision (40-36 on all cards) over Justin Johnson (6-17), while junior middleweight Danny Rosenberger (4-5-3) anialated Eric Plumeri (0-8-1) at 1:05 in the first round of the scheduled 4 rounder. The 10 bout pro-am card was promoted by Angelo Magnone’s MadeMen Promotions.
