Munguia will take on Brandon Cook (20-1, 13 KOs) of Toronto, Canada in the co-feature bout to the anticipated rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin live on HBO Pay Per View.

Here is what the champ had to say:

“It’s a big opportunity for me to be on this card. It’s a special date for Mexican people. I’m really excited to be on this card. (Cook) is a fighter with lots of experience but I have my plan to come out victorious.”

“I am young. 21 years old. I definitely need improvement. Time will give me that experience. We have had a good camp. After the last fight, I went straight back to the gym. Right now my focus is Brandon Cook.”
