Selby dominates Barros to retain IBF featherweight title

IBF featherweight champion “Lightning” Leo Selby (26-1, 9 KOs) retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over #1 contender and former WBA beltholder Jonathan Victor “Yoni” Barros (41-5-1, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at the SSE Arena in London. Selby was cut over the right eye by a head clash in round five, but otherwise Selby was too quick and slick. He dropped Barros with a left hook to punctuate a dominant performance. Scores were 119-108, 117-110, 117-110.

In a clash between unbeaten super featherweights, Martin J. Ward (18-0-2, 8 KOs) defended his British title and added the vacant Commonwealth belt with a close, tactical twelve round unanimous decision over Anthony Cacace (15-1, 7 KOs). Scores were 115-114, 116-114, 116-113.

Super lightweight Michal Syrowatka (19-1, 7 KOs) scored a dramatic twelfth round KO over previously unbeaten Robbie Davies, Jr. (15-1, 11 KOs) in a clash for the vacant WBA Continental super lightweight championship.

Unbeaten IBF #10 featherweight Kid Galahad (23-0, 14 KOs) remained unbeaten with a tenth round stoppage over Jose “El Tigre” Cayetano (21-6, 10 KOs). The IBF Inter-continental featherweight belt was on the line.
