Conlan outpoints Dos Santos in snoozer

Unbeaten Irish Olympic super featherweight hero Michael Conlan (8-0, 5 KOs) outboxed former world title challenger Adeilson Dos Santos (19-5, 15 KOs) over eight uneventful rounds on Saturday night at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The bout was scored by the referee 79-73 for Conlan in a tactical bout that never really heated up.

In a clash of unbeaten super lightweights, Jack Catterall (21-0, 12 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Tyrone McKenna (16-0-1, 6 KOs). Catterall lost a point in round two for hitting McKenna when he was on the canvas after being knocked down, but Catterall got the point back with another knockdown later in the round. Catterall dropped McKenna again in round five. McKenna came on in the later rounds and made it close on the cards. Scores were 95-91, 94-93, 94-93.

Unbeaten super featherweight Jono Carroll (16-0, 3 KOs) stopped Declan Geraghty (17-3, 4 KOs) with a barrage of punches in round nine. Time was 2:12.
